I got my hair dyed gray-brown here today and I’m super happy with the result! The color looks very natural and brightens my complexion, with a beautiful texture under sunlight. Kevin, the stylist, is very skilled and attentive, and he gave me great suggestions based on my skin tone and hair condition. My hair doesn’t feel dry at all after the dyeing—it’s smooth and soft. The environment is clean and comfortable. I’ll definitely come back! Highly recommend!

Amazing experience today with Kevin! This is the best haircut I've ever had in my life, and I was in at 12:30 and out by 1:10. This is my first time getting a haircut in Pittsburgh and it is so incredible I will never go anywhere else. My friends recommended that l book with Kevin and I'm so happy I did. His work is amazing and efficient and you can tell that he really is an expert at his craft. To the other reviewers who have left comments about the employees not speaking English and having issues with a language barrier - this is an Asian hair salon. The low reviews with these comments are incredibly disheartening - America has never had an "official language!" I personally had no issues with communication, Kevin asked questions and delivered exactly what I asked and what I showed in the reference photos. Come here if you want an excellent haircut and aren’t going to pass judgement on people who may speak a different language than you. ♥️

I had an amazing haircut with Eason! He listened carefully to what I wanted and gave professional suggestions based on my face shape and hair texture. The whole process felt very detailed and thoughtful. The result turned out even better than I expected — clean, stylish, and easy to manage. Eason’s technique is truly impressive, and you can tell he has many years of experience. I highly recommend Eason if you’re looking for a precise, professional, and comfortable haircut experience. I was recommended by this place from several friends. I was very excited to try this place out but left disappointed. I knew coming in to have reference pictures prepared because of the language barrier. I read through all the reviews and people were able to communicate properly through a translation app. There wasn’t much effort into styling my hair. I have naturally curly hair but I always style a blowout at home. They straighten my hair even though my haircut has a lot of layers, which resulted in looking flat and choppy. I explained I wanted more volume on the top but it wasn’t executed well. I restyled it myself at home and I do love the cut. I am just not happy with the original styling when I left the salon. I don’t know if it’s just an off day for the stylist because there has been so many good reviews from this place. I personally felt disappointed. I felt like there wasn’t much attention to detail when styling my hair. All the reference images have a lot of volume + layers on the top(Shown below). The end result felt flat. I am definitely willing to give this place another shot, because the cut looked great when I gave myself a blowout at home. I don’t think the straightening at the salon was the best move to enhance my haircut.

Great experience here & really great haircut by Eason 🙂 My hair is by nature thin and flat, and I came in with no layers, since I got a blunt cut previously. Eason cut the layers beautifully and it was exactly what I'd asked for. I'm very happy with the outcome, and I'm thankful for a salon in Pittsburgh that understands how to deal with my hair type. The vibes were also relaxing and welcoming. Thank you Eason 🙂

Ash did a great job giving me a Korean perm and it turned out perfect. He took the inspiration photos and made them even better. I can’t recommend Ash and Umi Hair Salon enough. They are super respectful throughout the whole haircut and you’ll leave with your hair looking better than ever.

Had both a manicure and a haircut today — and I’m beyond satisfied! Chloe, the nail artist, is super professional. This was my second time with her, and she never disappoints. The nail design was spot-on with what I wanted, the structure was perfect, and my first set even lasted over 40 days! For the haircut, Eason did an amazing job. I only showed him a reference photo, and he instantly understood the style I wanted. The final result looked great and really suited me — he totally got my vibe! The whole experience was smooth and enjoyable, with professional and thoughtful service. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend Chloe and Eason!
