Took my mom to buy her maza to make tamales today. It's maza preparada from La Amapola. She'd normally drive to Maywood to get it so this was conveniently nearby. We met the owner who was super nice and helpful. They make specialty coffees so I ordered an iced caramel espresso and it was delicious while we shopped. They carry bread from Old Town Bakery which is amazing so I picked up a loaf of jalapeño cheddar sourdough bread and bagels. They sell tamales which we tried and were impressed! So glad we found this market, they have everything and prices are affordable.
They have a good selection even with some aisles still empty. Had a good experience with the items I purchased. However some of the employees made my time there welcoming and were helpful. Others were following me around making sure I didn’t take anything, once I went to pay for my items I felt harassed by an older lady who was blocking me in and stood very close to make sure I didn’t steal anything. Unfortunately as much as I did like this store I will not be going back, I felt very discriminated against.
I don't review often so this hurts my heart to say this about a MUCH NEEDED local Asian Market; Despite my initial hopes and excitement for this local Asian Market to blossom, they have been heading towards the wrong direction. Was their fresh produce in the best condition? No. Did I have to return a spoiled product? Yes. And prices were never that competitive (on most items) compared to other Asians markets, but I didn't mind since it was convenient, local, and again much needed. Bonus; it also gave me a sense of familiarity. Despite their shortcomings, I eagarly supported them hoping they'd never close and they'd expend on their inventory overtime. They had niche items and brands I've never seen before (compared to other local Asian markets) which made it exciting, and gave me hope towards their future of growing bigger. HOWEVER, every week I've visited, they've been taking more and more Asian brands/products off their shelves in favor of Western/American/etc. products. Barely any shelves/aisles are dedicated to their initial stock. Sure there are more shelves, BUT about 75% of the store was filled non Asian products when visiting today. Every passing week it seems to be getting worse! 🥲 I understand as a business you need to evolve to survive in this economy, but it doesn't make sense to claim be an Asian Market (anymore) if your current and future inventory doesn't cater to the core demographic you claim to be catering to. If I wanted American/Western products, I'd visit other stores within a 2 mile radius with a bigger selection or even Dollar Tree next door that's 10x cheaper. Makes absolutely no sense to head towards an already saturated market. Henceforth, if they continue heading towards the opposite direction; I don't have much motive to shop here when the prices aren't competitive and the Asian products carried are dwindling. It seems to me the sentiment rings true for others as well as I've noticed the demographics visiting are slowly shifting. So due to the hopefulness I once have for them, the purpose they've served, and helpful employees, but the continuing disappointment everytime I've visited, it's a 2.5 star review 😔
Really cool local Asian market. They have typical stuff like a lot of seafood, vegetables, Asian products. There's some American stuff they sell too like name brand cereals and such. They also have a small deli inside. I was told they would start selling sandwiches and the like soon but as of now they have boba tea and different salads there.
Great local asian market. Has all the items we need to cook ethnicity dishes and provides them at a reasonable price. Staff are friendly and helpful (they got us a box from the back to carry the items we bought in store). Also they recently opened up a boba store inside and the brown sugar green tea is perfect not too sweet.
Echoing the sentiments of literally every single other reviewer: thank GOD there is a full-service Asian supermarket in Ontario now!! I no longer have to drive all the way to 99 Ranch or an HMart to get my favorite snacks or the things I need to cook. I've been coming here since their soft opening and I am just obsessed with this place. Great selection, I find basically everything I need in one place (including basic staples and produce!), prices are outstanding, AND they just added a milk tea bar. Please support this local business, it's definitely worth a visit!!
Impressed by solid produce, canned goods, and frozen Asian Cuisine items. Absolutely frustrated with their hot and spoiled fish counter. I'm still not sure who is giving out these Health licenses.
