I took my mom to a Southern seafood class for her birthday. Let's be honest, it was a treat for me too. We had so much fun and although I cook quite a bit, I still learned quite a few things. I was impressed by chef John's focus on efficiency and effectiveness in prepping the food. As someone who cooks on a nightly basis, these are both important to me everyday. The food was delicious and the recipes were easy enough for novice working in a group to follow. So if you don't cook regularly, don't fear. I know to money this seems kind of a expensive entertainment, but quality food is not cheap, nor is having someone do much of your prep work, clean up, provide all of the equipment, etc. I would do this again.

It was our first time at The Cutting Edge for the French Croissant and Danish Pastry class and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Heather was an amazing teacher and showed us making these pastries isn’t as daunting as it appears. By making your own pastries, it really makes you appreciate the time bakeries put into making them and makes the price of them really reasonable. We had a full class and it was perfect that we came with four people to divide up the tasks, but still all have a hands-on experience. You’re given an option to purchase alcohol during the class and there was an array of beverages. We were gifted this class for Christmas and really enjoyed ourselves and looking forward to coming again! If you’re thinking about a gift or a date night, this is a great idea.

Went to an Asian dumpling class with my daughter and it was great! It was so much fun and we learned so much. Chef Nick was very helpful and the food turned out great. We made four kinds of dumplings, including the dough, and sesame balls. I won’t say they were the most beautiful dumplings I’ve ever seen but they tasted really good for beginners. We are excited to go back for a pasta class!

Very fun, truly. Come hungry and be prepared to be a little out of your element. You learn great things and eat well. The chef and staff are a joy and know their stuff. 10/10 will go again.

I was excited for this experience with my husband. We signed up for the Artisan Pizza Basics: Four Styles. It was $230 for a Sunday class, 1-4pm. We each prepared one crust and pizza (both Neapolitan). The other three types (Chicago-style deep dish, Cast iron Sicilian, Mediterranean) were all done by the Chef and we stood and watched. I would have understood if there was not time for us to do more; however, he ended the class more than an hour early. We were disappointed by the experience and felt the advertising was disingenuous. I will say that my son attended a summer camp there and he really loved it. For me and my husband, though, it didn't measure up. We were also put off by the very large red print on the front of the cooking instructions saying there is a suggested steward tip of $25 each person. I didn't feel like tipping after the experience and after we had already paid so much for the class. The woman serving drinks asked us if we wanted to put the tip on our card. That was presumptuous and made us feel like the tip was required.
