The Academy at Harvard Square

Studying at Harvard Square Academy has been one of the best decisions I’ve made since moving to Boston. Having the opportunity to learn with Professor John, who is incredibly experienced and truly committed to each student’s progress, made a huge difference in my English journey. The school also gave me the chance to meet amazing Brazilian students, as well as people from countries like Korea and Italy, which turned every day into a rich cultural exchange. The environment feels welcoming, diverse, and motivating. One of the biggest highlights for me is the personalized TOEFL preparation. Each day is focused on a specific skill — reading, listening, speaking, or writing — and the materials provided are complete, practical, and easy to follow. It helped me build confidence much faster. Another point that makes the school stand out is its flexibility. They offer morning and afternoon classes, and there is even the possibility of future online classes depending on demand — perfect for students who need a more adaptable schedule without losing quality. The school also offers a special tuition rate for au pairs, similar to a scholarship, which makes it much more accessible for those living on a tighter budget while still wanting high-quality, in-person education. And of course, studying right in the heart of Boston, just steps away from MIT and Harvard, makes the experience even more inspiring. I spent almost two months at this school. I had a great time and met wonderful people. Anthony, my teacher, was absolutely fantastic; it's thanks to him that I had such a great term, the best teacher you could ask for. The support system is also excellent. There are events organized outside of classes that allow for enjoyable social interactions.

I took the ESL class (3 credits) as an Au Pair and I loved it. Anthony was my teacher and gave me many tools to communicate in English I also made friends and from different countries! It was great to share our cultures🥰 The classes were super entertaining and I liked that we all participated in reading, asking questions and listening. It was challenging but in a good way! Without a doubt it is a class that I would recommend to my circle of friends or people who are interested in doing it

I took the TOEFL preparation course and had a very good experience. The instructors were clear, organized, and helpful. The school provided useful materials and a structured program. I recommend The Academy at Harvard Square for TOEFL preparation.

I took the ESL English course at TAHS and I had a great experience. I highly recommend it! Not only did I improve my English skills, but I also learned many interesting facts that made the classes even more engaging and fun. The atmosphere was very friendly, and the teachers were always supportive and helpful. I really enjoyed it!

I had my 72-hour TOEFL preparation classes with John, and it was a great experience! The school staff were always attentive and extremely dedicated to helping. The facilities are also excellent.

As an Au pair I had to take credits for my program, I’m glad I took the TOEFL course on Saturdays. Either way you need to take the test or not it’s a great place to learn new things and meet people, plus John (teacher)always makes sure we have yummy snacks during the hours we learn. I would totally recommend this course, I felt prepared to take the test. And John will always try to help you.
