Lauren Johnson is truly special! Although she specializes in blondes, im personally a brunette and I have been getting my hair colored by her for a while and she always makes my visions come to life! She truly caters to your needs and you can tell she genuinely wants you to feel great when you walk out of the salon! I go to Baylor and had to be back for spring rush, and I have gotten LOADS of compliments on my hair! My hair "lifts" really fast and she quickly recognized that and adjusted and adapted so well, I could really tell that she knows what shes talking about— she definitely puts the pro in professional!! The pic below of me on the red top is virgin hair, and the other pics are two different times I got my hair done by her based on what I wanted, the white dress pic was going into the summer so I wanted a little lighter, and the pic with the jacket was a week or so ago and its winter so I wanted a little more dimension while still keeping highlights. TOTALLY RECOMMEND!!

I came in back in June for a haircut with Kyle and he did an amazing job! I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted but knew I was looking to bring out my natural hair pattern. Kyle listened and explained what he was doing, and I was so happy with the results. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a wavy/curly cut!

I’ve been seeing Sarah Vroon for 5 years now and would never go see anyone else. She’s always consistent and does an amazing job each time. She knows exactly how I like my hair and she’s so patient when doing it! This past weekend she came in on her day off before my birthday so that I could feel like myself again! She spent four hours doing my hair and I couldn’t be happier with it. The before and after photos speak for themselves. Can’t recommend her enough if you’re looking for someone that specializes in blondes!

If you're looking for the right person to color your hair, try Lauren Johnson, she's the best! I met Lauren at the Charleston airport on my way back to Seattle. I was in the middle of a move, and she was visiting family in Seattle. We struck up a conversation and she gave me her info and background. She had worked for many years at Gene Juarez in Bellevue, which is a top specialty salon in the Seattle area. She is highly trained and specializes in just color, and she clearly is an expert in her field. She has foiled my hair a couple of times and each time with perfect results. Not only is Lauren amazing at hair color, but she is the nicest and loveliest person! She is thoughtful and always fun to be around, and she makes the salon experience at Stella Nova feel welcoming and very personal. She is one of the first people I met in South Carolina, and I feel incredibly blessed just to know her. She also recommended Kyle, her partner who specializes in hair cutting. They both came from the Seattle area, and they worked together at Gene Juarez. He has the same high level of training and did an amazing job fixing a very bad haircut I received when I first got here. Kyle listened and I walked out of the salon feeling very confident that I will continually be in good hands every time I go to Stella Nova downtown. Two things worth mentioning- I have very fine hair! When Lauren colors it (blonde foils), it is never damaged, and I always leave with it in better condition than when I came. And for Kyle, he understood the concept of NOT over-layering very fine hair. It only makes it look thinner! He did a lovely blunt cut on the ends and told me he'd work with me on growing out the old layers. I haven't had to fight with it laying correctly since he cut it. Also, I live in the Bluffton area of South Carolina. It is more than worth it to drive the hour and a half to Charleston to be taken care of by this team! Try them both. You definitely won't be disappointed! 🙂

Stella Nova Downtown located in the charming Cigar Factory, is an upscale salon that truly stands out. From the moment I arrived I was impressed by the wonderful inviting atmosphere and the range of products available. The staff is incredibly friendly and I was offered a choice of wine or a bottled water (a very nice detail). Kyle, my hair designer, demonstrated exceptional professionalism and was incredibly attentive. He really listened and perfectly understood what I wanted. He explained his approach before he started and delivered an amazing haircut which I absolutely love! He also provided valuable guidance on hair care and styling products. I also have to add that his haircuts grow out very nicely and he does a wonderful scalp massage and blowout too! He'll ensure that you walk out with hair you adore and feeling absolutely fabulous! I love love love my hair! 🥰

I had a facial with Deb too. She is amazing! I always feel younger, refreshed with a glowing shimmer. Lauren was great with color and Cyle gave me a cool cut.

I got a great cut from Audrey at the Stella Nova downtown! I enjoyed the process of booking my appointment online and was surprised at how quickly I was able to get in. I don’t usually have a very strong idea of what would be best for me so I was very happy that Audrey was able to take my general request and turn it into a stylish haircut that I still love a couple of weeks in.
