Knoxville School of Rock is a total 10/10! The vibes here are immaculate, and it’s easily the highlight of my son’s week. He’s been having a blast in his sessions with Lydia, who is incredible, and the owner, Kelsey, is just as awesome. The entire staff is so encouraging and supportive of his developing musical talents and taste. If you want a place that’s high-energy, welcoming, and makes your kid feel like a rockstar, look no further!
Everyone has been incredibly responsive and wonderful to work with. They took the time to answer all of my questions and made the entire process easy and stress-free. My daughter is so excited to be part of the School of Rock Rock 101 program. Highly recommend!
School of Rock is a wonderful place to get lessons, and join amazing bands. I was in a 90s Grunge Camp recently, and the teachers are very nice! I won't mention any names, but my personal drum teacher is THE BEST!!! I promise you, if you're a parent looking to have your child enrolled in lessons, then THIS IS THE PLACE!!!
Our family’s journey with School of Rock Knoxville has been nothing short of extraordinary. My oldest child just graduated after two and a half whirlwind years, starting as a beginner guitarist and ending up performing on the stages of Bonnaroo and opening for Styx. That transformation wasn’t just musical. It was personal, powerful, and deeply inspiring. We have four other children currently in the program, each at different stages, all dreaming of earning a spot in the elite House Band. I can’t think of a better place for them to chase those dreams. The environment here is electric with creativity, encouragement, and genuine care. A huge part of that magic comes from the owners, Kelsey and Owen. These two are absolute gems. They are visionary leaders whose humanity rivals their technical brilliance. They’ve built one of the most inclusive, accepting, and empowering communities in Knoxville. Their passion isn’t just for music. It’s for people. They pour their hearts into every student, every show, and every partnership with organizations across the city and beyond. And the rest of the staff? Just as phenomenal. Alex at the front desk is the glue that holds everything together. They coordinate schedules, answer questions, and make every family feel seen and supported. We’ve had the privilege of working with nearly every instructor at the school, and each one has made a lasting impact. They don’t just teach. They connect, inspire, and uplift. Standouts for our family include Lydia, Alex, Wooloughby, Liym, and Owen, whose leadership and mentorship have left an indelible mark on our kids’ musical journeys. School of Rock Knoxville is not just a music school. It is a launchpad, a place where kids discover not only their sound but their voice. For our oldest, it was life-changing. He started as a shy, quiet, introverted kid who barely spoke up in group settings. Through the mentorship, performances, and community here, he grew into a confident, inspiring leader on stage, commanding attention not just with his guitar but with his presence. Today, he is pursuing a degree in Recording Industry Audio Production at MTSU, chasing his passion with clarity and purpose. That journey began right here. And just to be clear, this is a real review from a real parent. I have had five children enrolled at School of Rock Knoxville, and I’ve seen firsthand how this place changes lives. If you ever want to talk about what this school has meant to our family, I’d be happy to share. You’ll usually find me behind the video camera at the end-of-season shows, capturing the magic as it unfolds. It’s not just music. It’s a movement. And we’re proud to be part of it.
I took a free lesson with Brian and it was great. I also took a tour and am very impressed by the school. Great people to turn you into a rockstar. I Highly recommend School of Rock, Knoxville. Just do it!
Our son has been playing drums in the Rock 101 program for 2 1/2 years. His growth and development on drums has been so fun to watch. He has also had so many opportunities to play music at great venues. The entire SOR team are true Rock Stars!
School of rock has been a great experience for my son. He has been playing in the band and also private lessons for years now. Great way to involved in music and working with other kids. Staff is great.
