Roka Akor - Old Orchard

Came here for the first time for restaurant week and got the lamb chops and prime fillet. Ordered medium rare but got served with blue rare. When we told the server it wasn't how we wanted it, we thought we would get a new plate but instead they just throw it back on the grill. Maybe don't come here for restaurant week. Apps and desserts were good but getting our steak and meat done wrong and just reheated has completely turned us off. 2 pieces of lamb compared to previous year when they give 3 is also unacceptable.

First of all, a shout out to our server ZION (i think thats his name). Let me start with the arrival… I needed to UP the reszie by one so i came in while the fam shopped and the hostess was VERY accommodating. Then i got there early and had a martini at the bar and the bartender was fantastic. We sat down and had a great meal. After a long week, just wanted to share my experience. Thanks!!!

Great place. The Omekasa menu is THE way to go. Great good. Cooked perfectly. Flavor intense and amazing. While it's a little pricey, you can't miss out on this place! A must visit at least annually!

I had a fantastic dining experience at Roka Akor. The quality of the food was outstanding — every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The service was attentive, professional, and made the whole experience feel upscale and special. The only downside is the portion sizes, which felt a bit small for the price point. While everything tasted amazing, I did leave wishing there was just a little more on the plate considering the cost. Overall, it’s a great spot.

Phenomenal experiences of "omakase" - we got the premium set, which is more like 6 premium courses. Service is relatively quick, the server is super friendly and down to earth. I love the freshness of the fish and the flavors of everything else. The desserts surprised me as it’s not too sweet, which is perfect! The only thing was that the steak was a little too well done. Overall I’d say the meal was definitely enjoyable and worth the pricing!

We went for the set dinner menu during Chicago restaurant week. Happened to be very empty on a Sunday evening (likely because it was Super Bowl Sunday!) so we had excellent service for the duration of our dinner. Appetizers were very good and it was nice that we got to try each of the three items on the menu. Entrees were good, although I definitely enjoyed the lamb most. Sides and sauces that came with the entrees were great. Dessert was delicious! Overall, we had a very nice experience but the cost is certainly up there. Not sure if the meal matched what the price would have been if it was full price and not part of the restaurant week menu.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a truly extraordinary evening at Roka Akor! The food was absolutely superior, from the perfectly cooked steak and fresh sushi to the crispy Brussels sprouts. Dessert was a highlight: the raspberry sorbet was the greatest dessert I’ve ever had (even better than the mango!). What made the night unforgettable was our waiter, Zyon. Every single recommendation he gave us was spot on, and he guided our meal beautifully from start to finish. My mom, who is elderly and doesn’t go out often, was especially pleased with his warmth and kindness. Zyon not only recommended the perfect dessert to end our night but also went above and beyond by holding the door for her as we left. In today’s world, gestures like that are rare. He truly embodied the definition of classic service. It was a magnificent meal paired with exceptional service. We can’t wait to return!
