The doctors I’ve seen have been great. However, billing is atrocious. I’ve been charged multiple times for services I have not had done and have been put through the ringer of trying to get the bills fixed and taken care of, and have been told their "coding professionals" know what they are doing. If they are professionals, I would not be getting charged for services I’ve never had done, including blood draws and urine tests. I think I’d know if I had these services done. The facility really needs to get their billing together. Highly debating leaving if this current billing issue does not get fixed. ALSO, preventive care appointments are only covered if you have clear tests come back. Once you come back with health issues, they start charging you extreme prices. How sad? I have health issues and low I need to pay over $1k for services that take 15 minutes? Absolutely outrageous. Facility clearly only cares about money.
Well I need to be a review here, I’ve been with Rapid City medical since 2021, and I’ve had three different doctors because they keep quitting. First I had Dr Fausch who is fantastic but left because he had a hard time dealing with this organization,. After that I had Kelly Steele it was great but she left. All the front office has left. I use Dr. Doten who was grossly incompetent. And then I called to make an appointment with my new Doctor Who they assigned me, and he said that I could not get an appointment for at least three months and they hung up on me. I’ve dealt with many doctors and Rapid City all of whom were fantastic except for Rapid City medical. There is a reason why they are quitting. Strongly recommend you find another doctor
Called to try to get an appoinment with GI doctor. 9 different options to review and then when you have the right option, no one answers but you are put on hold and in a caller sequence. After waiting 15 minutes, you able to leave a message, but as to my surprise, no one called me back after one day. It just slaves me on how a professional organization, can operate in this capacity. If you cant hire enough staff to answer your phones, let the public know on your website that no one answers the phone or returns calls and if you have a medical condition, "Good Luck"
Our experience with Rapid City Medical Center was unacceptable and extremely disappointing. From the very start, the priority was money, not care. We were required to make a $120 partial payment immediately just to schedule the appointment for our 3-year-old to even be seen. Once we were finally seen, the provider determined that further testing was needed—but instead of moving forward with care, we were forced to sit and wait for billing staff to physically come into the exam room so we could review another bill and make yet another partial payment before testing could be done. And if you think it ends there—when leaving and trying to schedule a follow-up, we were once again told we had to pay another $120 up front just to secure the appointment. What a joke. The final straw came when we later called to have our son’s prescription adjusted because Walgreens did not have what was originally prescribed. The receptionist we spoke with was abrasive, dismissive, and outright unprofessional. Rather than offering help, she complained about how much "work" it would create for her, the nurses, and the staff to redo the prescription. Her harsh tone and complete lack of compassion were so upsetting that it brought my wife to tears—all while she was simply trying to secure medication for our son, who has multiple health conditions. We are a patient, understanding family, and it truly takes a lot for us to write a review like this. But the way we were treated left us no choice. We will not be returning. In fact, we would rather drive to Sioux Falls or Denver before stepping foot in this facility again. If you value professionalism, compassion, and being treated as a patient rather than a billing account, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for medical care.
Dr. Jackie started me on my Mounjaro journey right off when I first started seeing her. Today I'm 70 pounds lighter because of her care. She essentially is my health savior!
I miss my Doctor when she left the RCMC on Minn Str, but Darcy Stockland reminds me a lot like her. Very pleasant & easy to talk to. I think I'll like it here!
I went to see Tyler Bergstrom several years ago for an inguinal hernia repair. I was hesistant to see a male doctor but decided to give it a try anyway. My discomfort wasnt helped at all when he had me undress in front of him. I wasnt even given a sheet to cover myself while I was lying on the table. All of this felt very unprofessional to me. Would not recommend him to anyone.
