Next Chapter Books

I’ve been on the hunt for local book shops to purchase some classics, as I find myself preferring to purchase them second hand for the beautiful vintage covers and the wonderful feeling of reading an already well loved book. Next Chapter Books is a gem, and I highly recommend! The owner was very kind, and made sure to greet me when I entered and let me know he was there if I needed anything. Hardcovers are around $12-$16, while paperbacks are around $3-$6. Really great prices! I think at first you may think the space is a bit small, but once you really look through all the aisles there’s SO many books! He’s got a great selection of genres, but the fantasy paperback selection was my favorite! He even has some step stools and chairs around, so you can use them to check the higher shelves or sit to check out your picks before purchase. It’s quiet but well taken care of by the owner. You can tell there’s a lot of love there. The owner and I chatted about how I found his shop through google since he mentioned he doesn’t really advertise it as much anymore. I told him he’s got great reviews on here, and hopefully more people can find Next Chapter Books and stop by! 😊

Lovely store. Prices for the books I bought were very reasonable. I picked seven books without checking the price and made it out for about $50. Owner is a friendly and talkative guy. There was a decent selection of western and sci-fi pulp fiction as well.

Absolutely the best used bookstore in the area! The owner is very nice and will take the time to show you the different sections around the store or help you find a book. I highly recommend this place!

Clean and welcoming local second-hand book store, with an extensive and well-organized collection of books. The owner is a very nice older gentleman, who is happy to answer your questions. Stop by and check out the books, you will not be disappointed!

I was over thrilled that there was actually a bookstore five minutes away from my home. I plan on making next chapter books my reading place. I love the vibe of the entire store. I stumbled across Next Chapter Books in Canoga Park last week, and honestly, what a delightful find! If you love used bookstores, this place is a treat. There is a large selection of books, and the inventory is well-organized. I focused my time in the mystery and science fiction sections and found several paperbacks I'd been hunting for forever. The store itself is clean and inviting, with seating right at the front, if needed. I noticed a solid collection of military books near the register, and while I didn’t get to spend much time in the literature section (next time!), it looked extensive. I chatted with the owner during checkout - he was friendly and knowledgeable about his inventory. I thought the prices were very reasonable. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

One of the the best small bookstores in the SF Valley! Boyd, the owner, is awesome. Great deals, and a really cool selection of fiction and militarily history. A must if you're a book lover!
