I remember the first time I came here at 18. It solidified my love for dead bodies. Later, I became a hospice nurse and now that ship has sailed as life changes. Middle age means an itch for change. This school inspired me to continue in the sciences when I was young ,and it is a good option for students who don’t want to do the community college route. I just wish they offered more degrees/certifications.
Students of the Florida campus have made numerous formal requests, backed by signed petitions, for their graduation ceremony to be held in Florida. The overwhelming consensus is clear: traveling to Chicago in the middle of December imposes unnecessary financial strain, exposes students and their families to potential travel hazards, and limits the ability of loved ones to attend. These students have invested years of work and significant personal resources into earning their degrees, and their families have sacrificed alongside them. Insisting on a Chicago-only ceremony disregards both the practical realities and the value of the Florida campus community. It sends the message that Florida graduates are an afterthought, despite contributing equally to the institution’s reputation and success. We urge the administration to correct this oversight and respect the voices of its Florida graduates by hosting a ceremony in Florida. We need a change and a compromise. Graduation for the Florida students needs to be held in Florida.Period. In addition: They require the students to cover all of their own travel expenses to attend graduation in Chicago, and they continue to refuse holding the ceremony in Florida — even though the FL campus is graduating more chiropractors than in Illinois. The students even offered to cover the cost of tickets per person to host their own graduation in Florida.
I graduated from National College of Chiropractic. My education there provided me a strong foundation for clinical skills, chiropractic technique, and diagnostic skills. My experience at National College of Chiropractic really prepared me to be successful throughout my career. I would recommend National University of Health Sciences to any person considering this amazing career as a chiropractic physician.
If you like to sue NUHS, you have up to 2 years after your graduation to do so.
First impression is a cluster of old buildings . Various types of architecture thrown together in a hodge podge of disimilar construction.Nothing built since the 70's. After locating the clinic,I barely got through the door when I was accosted by the receptionist. "Do you have an appointment?" Very demanding and rude. After assuring her I had insurance but did not want any uncovered work done; She gave me a 6 page pile of paperwork which states that the patient must pay any uncovered treatment. I told her I did not want any uncovered treatment. It was catch 22. I felt good driving out.
Love the School. I'm a 2nd year ND student and as challenging as the curriculum is, I try to embrace every day! The administration listens to students and makes as many accommodations as they can to provide a positive learning experience and culture for the students. The location is great and the facility provides necessary resources to be a successful student. (I get it, it's impossible to make everyone happy, but majority of my colleagues seem just fine). The instructors are top notch, professional, and have high expectations as they should since they want to create great doctors. The students also receive good care at the school clinic as well as intern there as well. I recommend NUHS to anyone looking to become a pioneer in integrative medicine and want to provide non-toxic, less invasive, quality care at the same time promoting health and disease prevention! I realized that we make the culture what it is, so you can choose to look at everything that you don't like, or focus on all the good things and embrace the challenge! You make yourself who want to be in the end, so make the most of it and jump on as many opportunities as you can get! If I can do it, so can you!
I receive treatment at NUHS for adult scoliosis of the spine. They primarily offer chiropractic services, but they also offer accupuncture, massage therapy, physical therapy. The pros: 1. Relatively inexpensive so I can receive frequent treatment without breaking the bank. 2. The interns will spend time treating you, as opposed to the cursory treatment I have received at other chiropractors that charge far more money. 3. You will be treated by many different interns with different techniques. I have learned different treatment methods for my malady. Over time, you will find that there are some interns with exceptional skills. 4. Scheduling is easy. 5. Insurance covers my treatment. The cons: 1. You will be treated by many different interns with different techniques. There was only one intern that I didn't like, most were average, and only two I would grade as exceptional (One for massage therapy, the other for physical therapy). Unfortunately, they finish their internship and move on, so there is definitely a loss of continuity with treatment. This is especially difficult when you find someone that you really like. 2. Scheduling only available Monday-Thursday before noon.
