There genuinely is so much that I love and find extremely valuable about my lessons with Tegan! I love how the lessons are held in a home (it was a comforting environment to learn/practice in); I deeply appreciate how we begin each lesson by checking in with our bodies, stretching, and warming up with lip buzzes. I LOVE how she never scolded or made me feel bad in any way for anything. Since I began working with Tegan, I have achieved MANY results/goals of mine. Just to name a few: I learned how to match pitch, I learned how to effectively lip-buzz, what the differences in my vocal registers are, what passaggio is, how to read time signatures, and the list goes on and on and on!!! MTC is truly such a welcoming space that allows anyone at any age to begin or continue learning about singing. I cannot recommend MTC Vocal Academy enough!

TEGAN TEGAN TEGAN where do I begin?! I started my singing journey 7 years ago, for the first 5 years I was self teaching, I had a year of vocal lessons while I lived in TN and when I moved to the Savannah area I found MTC and I’ve been with Tegan for a year now. In that year, Tegan has brought true artistry out of me with her unique, safe and self guided teaching style. I didn’t even know I had this inside of me and the door that Tegan has opened for me has truly been a beautiful gift that I can’t thank her enough for. I look forward to my lessons every week and I value our time together. If you are a beginner and nervous about getting lessons MTC is the place for you! If you are looking to follow your artistic heart MTC is for you! If you just need a kind person to talk to and that will listen to you MTC is for you! One of the best teachers on the planet. Tegan is kind, brilliant, inventive, masterly, caring, present, and full of enthusiastic energy and love of music. As a result, she creates the best environment to train in one of the most vulnerable things. I always feel safe and cared for, and I appreciate how she's able to help me find the edge of my comfort zone and skill, and guide me in taking steps beyond those edges. I appreciate how she coaches me in making weird faces and strange noises to help open up my expressiveness. I really appreciate her positive-only training style. And I very much appreciate her kindness and non-judgement in those weeks where I haven’t practiced as much as I wanted, and maybe didn’t move things ahead very much. I really like the exercises she comes up with, and feeling and hearing how my sound changes over the course of just a few minutes doing the exercises. I like how she asks me what I’m hearing or feeling first to give me a chance to train my awareness. She takes pertinent notes and provides me with an email lesson summary each week, which has been invaluable. In summary, I really appreciate Tegan and the supportive environment she creates. These lessons are in the top 5 favorite things I’ve ever done. If you're looking for voice lessons, you’re not going to find a better teacher than Tegan.

Tegan is one of the most loving and supportive people that I have ever met. I always look forward to lessons with her and that I always feel as though I’m improving. I love that she has a million ways to explain something. She makes even the most difficult of techniques easy to understand and pushes me outside of my comfort zone, in a good way! There was never a time when I felt incapable or stupid. I was supported and encouraged to try everything because it’s a place to try new things without fear of judgment or failure. While I’ve seen so much growth in different areas of my voice, mostly I’m more confident. I feel competent and that with enough practice, I can achieve anything. Also, everything is incredibly well organized and I’ve never had a question that wasn’t answered quickly or easily.

Taking lessons with Tegan at MTC Vocal Academy was such a good choice. I like how Tegan made me feel better about my singing, challenged me, and strengthened my voice. I have become more confident and it was fun!
