Lux Spa Massage

Writing this on February 6, 2026. I Went in for a 90 minute massage and it was pretty standard to begin with. Nothing exceptional, she got the job done. I’d rate it a 6/10. The lady spent about 45 minutes on my back and 15 minutes on my feet. So 60 minutes of the massage was only dedicated to two places of my body. When I left, my back was in pain because she over-massaged it. Wished she would have massaged other parts of my body more thoroughly, but I should have communicated that with her to be fair, so it’s not entirely her fault either. I get it. Moreover, about 45 minutes of the massage was basically just rubbing, not really massaging. But I guess it’s relaxing even if that’s not really what I’m paying for. That said, if the mediocre massage was the only issue, I would’ve probably given this place 3/5 stars. Mediocre massages are the norm when it comes to these massage parlors so my standards aren’t that high. However, the reason I’m giving this place 1 stars is because of the service. When I left, I told the lady I’d give her a $15 dollar tip. She kept saying "$50!". And maybe she didn’t understand because she’s Chinese, so I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt, but I kept having to correct her over and over again, and say "No mam, $15, not $50". After that, she caught an attitude with me and said that she deserved a bigger tip because she gave me a good massage for 90 minutes (even though it was pretty average). I told her the most I could do is $20, then she begged me to do $30, so I said no and that I would only do $25 max just because I felt bad for her. So she essentially guilted me into giving her a $25 dollar tip. According to her, the $95 up front charge goes to her boss, so she only gets paid $20 hourly, that’s why she begged me for a $50 tip. But for 1) as unfair as that is, that isn’t my problem as a customer. I shouldn’t have to eat a $145 charge ($95 up front with a $50 dollar tip) for a mediocre massage because your boss is greedy and is basically pimping you. And 2) guilt tripping customers into tipping is incredibly shady and unprofessional behavior. Extremely sad and shady stuff considering how nice she was to me when I first got there, but I guess it’s all an act. Not coming back here, wouldn’t recommend.

Thank you, Vicki for making me feel better after having so many problems with my surgery. This will help me move so much better and help me to heal!

Wonderful experience! The therapist was skilled and attentive.excellent !!

I read the reviews prior to going. I agree with one of the other reviews. I too was uncomfortable with them demanding a $20 tip!.... it was a mediocre massage. The girl was fascinated with my butt. Spent a lot of time on my butt. That waan't bad 😁. But still. A $20 tip! I couldn't relax because she kept talking to me!

I get massages like three times a month from local businesses in San Diego. I was visiting around here and decided to get a massage. I called and they were willing to take me that moment. It was a good full body massage. At the end of it I tipped the girl 13.00 for the massage and with in a second of me giving her the money she started to complain that 20.00 is the amount I should tip her since it's hard to massage men. This was my first time there and after her being that forward about a tip probably not going back. If a tip is mandatory than raise your price or put a sign saying therapist work for only tips!

Their services are great and good and friendly staf with neat and clean environment and in appropriate budget they do the Spa and other facilities.

This is a massage parlor . By looking at the reviews before me most of these guys have not been to one and or are just cheap. I went in expecting a 40$ massage which the house gets . My Girl was very funny and cracked my back very well and she even upselled me a table shower for 10 extra . I was vey happy with the service . And I tipped very well .
