I can’t believe I’m just another sucker for Groupon . I purchased a couples massage off of Groupon for 130$ . Regular price was $310 ( I should have known it was too good to be true) my appointment was scheduled at 3:40 PM. The owner ( Tanya) calls me from the business phone 2 hours prior to tell me that the " power had went out" that she needed to cancel my appointment. I wasn’t stressed I had just told her that two hours is a while away so hopefully the power will be back on then. She then proceeded to tell me that she has no control over when they turn it back on, she doesn’t think it will be on and she just had her mind made up about the power not getting turned back on. I had asked her if she could call me when it comes back on and she replied yes.. I was around The corner so I stopped by the business only to see the power was in fact ON.. I also got on DTE to check and see if there was an outage and there was NO REPORTED OUTAGES at that location ( I will include the proof of screenshot if it will let me ) she had her mind made up because she LIED. I called a total of 7 times and she wouldn’t answer so I showed up and knocked on the door . It took her a while to answer but I knew she was there because I heard her and a man laughing .i knocked until She opened the door and looked surprised when I asked her about the power. She said " oh they just turned it back on " mean while there was a man in the back room that had just received a massage ( according to her) she then told me that the other employee left bc the " power went out" so she was the only one in the building to do the couples massage. I booked and bought a couples massage so that’s what I was expecting to get. The other employee was never there because the power was never out. The whole situation is a scam and I am extremely upset because I am out 130$ because it was out of the three day window for a refund. She refused to give me a refund and told me that I would have to take it up with Groupon. I never leave reviews , but nothing like this ever happens to me. I work hard for my money and I’m upset that I Lost $130 I promise you one thing, This lady is dishonest and I am all for supporting small businesses but making up a whole lie was so unnecessary. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is 🙁 I would like to add that I recorded our conversation, just incase she tries to make up more lies. I am submitting all of my proof to Groupon because her lying is absolutely unacceptable.

My massage was absolutely amazing—every touch felt intentional and soothing, leaving my body lighter and my mind completely at ease. That final detail made me feel celebrated, cared for, and completely spoiled in the best way. If you’re looking for a place that goes beyond just a massage and creates a true retreat experience, Beauty Retreat Studios is the spot. I can’t wait to return!

I'd purchased this voucher as a date for my guy and I off Groupon. I've called multiple times to where I'd get to an answering machine that was full (I was unable to leave a message). I had to reach out to Groupon for assistance with getting in touch with the merchant. I was able to get in touch with the merchant within the next couple days. She set everything up as well as gave me the disclosure for what to expect and what to/not to do. She asked if the 26th of December (yes, the day after Christmas) would work and it did. The weather was terrible and icy. I didn't receive a cancelation call and was at the office by 11:50 with my guy. I was 10 minutws early, but the door was locked. I called the merchant number and it went straight to voicemail. We sat and waited, thinking she may be with a client. We'll wait the 10 minutes. Mind you.... this isn't a message establishment. This is in a building with many other businesses. We just weren't sure what to do. She showed up alone at 11:58. Hands full, but no key for the office. She'd gone out and came back saying we need to reschedule and she would call us later in the evening. When she came back she was talking about how it smelled like weed etc. This office building isnt close to my residence and the weather had everything iced over. I didnt care about the building itself. She did offer to repay for gas, I didn't take it. She never introduced herself and explained her brother and she work late due to having night jobs. Her brother never showed. I believe in helping small businesses, but this was a terrible ordeal and she never called. I refunded my Groupon as of today. I was really excited for the opportunity. I wouldn't have left a review if she would have called like she said. I'm a firm believer in good business practice. This was lacking in professionalism and much more.

My husband and I booked a couples massage for our anniversary, and it may have been one of the best massages I’ve ever had. We had Richard and Tanya, and both were incredibly professional, attentive, and skilled. I’m usually terrible at relaxing during massages, but this time I felt completely at ease—the whole experience was deeply calming and restorative. I especially appreciated how Richard focused on the areas I needed most and even incorporated some stretching, which felt amazing. We left feeling renewed, and I would highly recommend them to anyone. We’ll definitely be back!

Beauty Retreat Studio in Southfield, Michigan, is a gem! My girlfriend and I had an amazing couples deep tissue massage experience. Richard and Tanya were fantastic – professional, friendly, and they explained everything thoroughly, which was great since it was my first time. The massages were perfect, and the champagne and chocolates afterward were such a thoughtful touch. Highly recommend for a special occasion or just a regular treat!
