I would like to say how much I appreciate Diego, who cut my 2yo daughter’s hair, and another stylist who worked with my 8yo and gave her layers with bangs. They both made sure I was comfortable with the haircuts and did a great job making my daughters feel at ease during the entire session. Ruby, the salon manager, was incredibly patient with my two daughters while doing their nails as well. They were giggling the whole time, and she made them feel relaxed and turned it into such a fun experience. Not every salon is this accommodating to kids! Sydney also played music while doing my daughter’s nails, which I really appreciated. She spoke to her kindly and was so patient. Angela did my gel nails, almost like a Russian manicure but cheaper and even nicer

I had the best experience at Y Salon in San Mateo! Li completely exceeded my expectations and I absolutely love my hair. I came in with some inspiration photos and explained what I wanted, and she was so thoughtful and attentive throughout the entire appointment. She took the time to ask me questions and clarify details about the cut, making sure it was exactly what I envisioned. On top of that, she gave me the best head massage ever — such a relaxing bonus! I left the salon feeling refreshed, cared for, and so happy with the result. Highly recommend Li if you’re looking for a stylist who truly listens and delivers!

I’m always afraid of trying new places with curly hair but Yvonne just knew what she was doing! She really understands hair textures so well and also gave me good recommendations. All of the staff were super friendly too! Would totally recommend and go back again! ☺️

I have been here 2 times so far. First time for the massage. The quality was not good. They tried but I it didn't feel like they ware trained masseuses. The background music was loud and not at all relaxing. For my husband, the music was off of an app that had commercial between songs. Definitely not a relaxing massage experience you would expect. I decided to give them a second chance, this time for padi. I got all kinds of scratches on my toes because of the way they used the filer. Instead of being careful and only use it on my nails they were super fast all over the skin around my nails. I was not happy with their customer service and how they added all kinds of fees to our overall cost.

Best of the best salon in town! I have been a loyal customer of Y Salon for many years, but always neglected to post a review and forgot to take before & after photos. The salon has gone through many changes and renovations throughout the years, but their ambiance and uplifting service remain the same. Yvonne is a wonderful master stylist. She knows her customer well and listens to their request. She is very skillful and I feel like she’s a chemist witch with her color blending. My hair color was fading out and i needed a full lifted dye. I was happy with the color I got and the multiple treatments that make my hair shiny and silky. In addition, i also got my manicure done as well. Awesome job from Oanh (One). Lovely lady and did an awesome job. Y Salon also takes care of customers very well. They offer complimentary beverages and snacks. All the staff are very friendly and attentive. I can also see the positive energy that each staff have for one another. They seem to be very pleasant to be around. Last but not least, the salon is beautifully decorated with unique personal touch and very artistic. Highly recommend 🥰

Very high-quality work every time. Yvonne is an amazing colorist and has given me some of my favorite haircuts of my life; they're always consistent, precise, and flattering. I always leave Y Salon feeling well taken care of, and I wouldn’t trust my hair to anyone else!

Absolutely loved my experience! The staff was friendly, professional, and made me feel comfortable from start to finish. My hair turned out even better than — shiny, healthy, and perfectly styled.
