I had a life-changing massage with Res. Perfect pressure! He made me feel comfortable to ask any questions if I had them, checked in with me a couple of times to ask if the pressure was ok and he was easy to talk to to and has mad massage skills. I will be seeing him again soon! Worth every penny!

I absolutely love this place, beautiful atmosphere, calming and clean. The infused water and tea they give you to hydrate are a nice touch. The retail store in the front has such awesome products. But frankly I have been to a lot of spa's all around the country and the level of professionalism and the quality of care is off the charts. I have had incredible massages with Rez and Pacha they are both strong and gentle at the same time. Pacha is very Zen and it is an experience to have a massage with him, and Rez has an incredible technique especially for those with issues or injuries. The facials with Hannah are honestly the best I have ever had. I seriously won't go anywhere else again.

Great interior design, beautifully done and reminds me of top spas. Body worker was also excellent, respectful, skilled, and professional. The front desk staff were pleasant but aloof Another guest asked me for where the water station was, which was something also not initially offered to me.

Got a massage here last week and it was not good. My massage therapist seriously lacked technique and on top of that I think she zoned out a few times as she spent way too long rubbing the left side of my neck. Interior is lovely. I would consider going back and trying someone else.

Our company booked a "Spa Party" where 5 of us were able to experience the wonderful hospitality of AvantGard. We were greeted by Sofia, and were taken to the lounge to enjoy a glass of champagne. This was then followed by a tour of the facility by the owner, Blanca Caballero. Me, alongside of the rest of the party were stunned (in a good way!) after our treatments, and we thank the AvantGard team for their magnificent service and hospitality.

If you are looking for a quality massage from a skilled masseuse/masseur on the peninsula, definitely give AvantGard in San Carlos a visit. The facilities are clean and welcoming…complete with complimentary hot and iced tea. There is also a relaxing lounge beyond the receptionist/shop area. The front office staff are always pleasant and add to the relaxing atmosphere from the very beginning. I randomly chose Pacha-Mateo as my massage therapist the first time I went and have never looked back. His positive energy and genuine personality are refreshing. His attentiveness, modest drapping and massage technique speak to an experienced massage therapist who has great passion for their profession. I am beyond grateful to have lucked into discovering this awesome establishment in downtown San Carlos. It is within walking distance to local restaurants and is a great way to reset after the stress of long days at work.

I got the get glowing massage. Massage portion was good but I was shocked by the exfoliation part. It’s supposed to be Korean style exfoliation (which I’ve gotten many times before), and typically you soak in hot water first and then get exfoliated. Here I was just scrubbed down with an exfoliating towel on my dry skin…raw sandpapered down 😂 it was painful and my skin didn’t feel nice after - they should really change this it was pretty hilariously bad
