I went here TWICE on a 4 day trip to New Orleans. Good prices and friendly staff Such a nice treat for my feet after walking all day. Good firm pressure on my back. They got out some deep knots. I highly recommend this place for a great combo massage.
Absolutely amazing! As previously reviewed, it is an authentic Chinese massage with significant deep pressure. I also got the 60-minute foot and body massage. He put so much effort into releasing my knots that it was well worth it, although somewhat painful. I will definitely return for another massage. I preferred this massage to another one that I received in New Orleans earlier this year.
Great place to get an affordable massage. I got the 60 minute foot massage for $62 and it was worth every penny. They keep the front door open so it can get a bit noisy from the street or humid if it's raining (which was the case when I went there) but it's still a great price so no complaints. There's also a competing spot right across the street which I didn't try but I saw that they are ever slightly more expensive. My foot massage was not too hard and I never had to ask the masseuse to ease up. It was just right. I tipped generously (almost 30%) given the price point and also read other reviews that they are particularly hawkish regarding tips and I didn't want to deal with any drama lol. I tipped in cash and everyone was happy.
My husband and I have massages all the time and this was 100% the best foot/body massage I have ever had. We did the 20 and 20. They started with a foot massage and then A body massage. Their prices were very reasonable and these folks just about knocked themselves out to give us the best experience we could possibly have. 10 out of 10! We will probably go back tomorrow. Don’t judge!
Wow, I didn’t expect to see a traditional Chinese reflexology place in New Orleans, but this is legit. I got the 60min foot and body combo and I wasn’t disappointed. The male masseur knows his stuff and was pressing all my acupuncture points, and the aches in my legs and my back just melted away. Take note that if you’re new to Chinese reflexology, ask for less strength or just get the Swedish massage. Payment here also works a little different from restaurants. Here, your tip is entered into the machine as an additional charge to the massage service and a 6% sales charge is added to the entire bill. Don’t be surprised to see the extra charge. Will definitely come by again if I find myself in New Orleans!
Possible scam alert: Honestly, a good massage with strong pressure that I needed but left feeling like I was bring scammed and that ruined the whole experience. The guy *suggested* a certain tip amount and then charged even more as the tip. He didn't ask for a tip amount; he just went ahead and typed 20 in the calculator and said "tip yes?" And I said ".... Okay, thats okay, sure." He then typed $24 for the tip in the payment machine and processed the payment. I looked at the receipt and said "Uh no. Refund me and start over." He just kept nodding and smiling. And after every staff member came over to see what we were talking about, I showed them the calculator (which showed 20) and the receipt (which showed the $24 tip.) and only then did he hand me $4 in cash. I had a great massage but that completely soured the experience. Red flag 1: I was not asked how much I wanted to tip. He suggested $20 and it felt more like "you agree to $20 tip, yes?" That's not cool. Let the customer decide how much they want to tip. It's insane to me that they'd basically be like "you should tip $20" and then type the tip into the payment device for me. Red flag 2: he charged $24 for the tip instead of $20, and after showing him the "20" on the calculator and the "$24" on the receipt, he somehow didn't understand what I was telling him until I looked around for help everyone who worked there came over and woman who speaks some English seemingly chastised him into fixing it. I don't believe he didn't understand what I was saying before that. It should have been plain as day that the numbers didn't match up. I bet they're used to dealing with drunk tourists and think they can get away with this shady crap. Please be on your toes and make sure they charge ONLY what you authorize them to. I wish this great massage didn't have such a disappointing conclusion, otherwise I definitely definitely would have been back multiple times during my stay. If I can be ULTRA charitable, it was maybe that they tacked some sort of $4 fee onto the tip for paying with card? That would be strange because everywhere else puts that under a different charge and $4 would be unreasonably high on a $58 base price. And I am pretty sure I did see a separate $3 charge which I doubt would have been tax, as I don't think massage parlots charge sales tax in Louisiana. And to be ULTRA ULTRA charitable, maybe the language barrier played a part, but I doubt it. If there was a good reason to charge me $4 more than I authorized for the tip, the woman who speaks English didn't offer me any sort of explanation. Sucks because it was a good massage!! I look forward to the establishment replying to this review with a very good reason why this happened. I'd like to think I was a good customer. I was polite and very thankful after they finished up the massage. I hope this was a big misunderstanding. If it is, still be aware that they're unprofessional about tipping.
I’ve had reflexology a bunch of times and this was the best! We did the 40 min combo (20 foot, 20 body). No foot soak, but the foot part was legit. You move to the table for a combo, fully clothes with some stretching. Perfect way to end some long days with lots of steps.
