Very very disappointed with this place. Had a horrible recent visit. The spa was broken - hot tub was not very hot and the jacuzzi was completely broken. The women working there told us. Fan system also not working. I had driven from 1 hour away on my precious afternoon off from work, so I still tried to use the spa for about 1.5 hours. It was incredibly unrelaxing, however; on the way out, there was a man who had to come in to fix the system amongst all of the naked women. The woman running the place tried to keep the man coming in and out only when the women were dressed and tried to keep naked women from coming out while he was fixing the system, but it was INCREDIBLY unrelaxing - not to mention that it made me late because I had to wait to change until all of the many women who had just entered the dressing room put on enough clothing for the maintenance man to walk back through. When I asked the front desk on my way - kindly - if they would be willing to give me a pass to come back when the jacuzzi and spa (heat) were working and there was not a maintenance man there, they refused and did so with absolutely NASTY attitudes. They didn't even apologize for the experience. They refused to give me any money back and they refused to give me a pass to return at another time. They accused me of trying to take advantage of THEM because I stayed for 1.5 hours. I explained that it was my only day off and I traveled from far away to get there, but the experience was incredibly unrelaxing and not what I paid for. They basically screamed me out the door as I kept my cool and expressed that I didn't think this was right. This is a big loss to me; I enjoyed coming to this place. I can never return or recommend it to anyone after this experience, however. They were unkind, rude, and unprofessional. I do not recommend.
What a wonderful experience! I had just finished 3 straight weeks of work and needed to destress so I went all in with the body scrub & massage which is $140 (not including tip) for 80 minutes. Fortunately I read the reviews so I knew it would be nude (men’s and women’s bath areas are separate.) It was a wild ride being a first timer, but worth every penny and my skin has never been cleaner or softer. As others have said, bring cash to tip but everything else can be paid for via card.
Came here for a group birthday outing. K-spas aren't my thing, as I don't like being barefoot, gendered and beaten within an inch of my life when I'm trying to relax. But the birthday boy wanted to come, and it's hard to argue against the $30 entrance fee (massages and such are additional). That said, if I had to K-spa again, I wouldn't come back here. There was a good 10-15 min during our stay when one staff member was angrily yelling at another member at the top of his lungs. I couldn't understand what he was saying since it was all in Korean, but I'm grateful for that actually. Combined with the questionable cleanliness and bare bones decor, I can't imagine why anyone would choose to come here when there are better options in Queens.
The $30 day pass is a great deal for a clean, no-frills Korean spa. When you enter, you take off your shoes and receive towels, shorts, and a t-shirt. The downstairs area is separated by gender. No clothes/swimsuits/sandals are worn in the bath area. The downstairs has a eucalyptus steam room, a dry sauna, an unheated pool, and a heated pool with massage jets. The upstairs area is co-ed and has rooms with heated floors to lie down in. There's also a "cool room" with A/C and TV, as well as a hot sauna shaped like a pizza oven. The Korean body scrub is a very effective exfoliating experience. Be sure to bring extra cash to tip if you get a scrub.
Everything you need at a good price. The staff is very friendly and everything is there for you to use / relax within the day. I've been going here for 4 years and everyone there has been nothing but friendly, kind and helpful... so I don't know where "some" of these reviews are coming from. I really like the fact that they nurse the hurt parakeet birds and let them live freely within the indoor tree garden when you enter the seating lounge. I highly recommend this spa for the price and their amenities.
A great day spa experience for men (and probably women, haven't been to tha side). Best price to quality!
This was my first real Korean sauna. I loved it and plan to go back. The quality and attention to detail of the scrub and massage are 1,000 times better than at Sojo Spa. The front desk lady was very nice. She gives two towels, an outfit for the co-ed area, and a wrist bracelet with a key to each guest. The number on your bracelet corresponds to your assigned locker. Everything in the women's side was clean. Bring your own hair brush, toiletries (eg: lotion, sunblock, your favorite hair product like hair oil or leave-in conditioner), spare underwear, and a little water bottle for afterwards.
