Overall, the massage was good. We requested a massage from a man and a woman. They took good care of us. They seemed to generally adhere to hygiene standards. We got an Asian-style massage for $69. The focus was primarily on the back. We would have liked more attention to the legs and feet. They worked primarily on the upper body for an hour. It was certainly relaxing, but when I mentioned the whole body, I thought each area would be treated equally.
This was the strangest massage experience I’ve ever had. Had the Tuina massage and the masseuse massaged me with my clothes on as well as a towel over my clothes. Very bizarre. The amount of pressure applied was okay but it felt like she wasn’t focused on key tension points. Overall the massage felt rushed and underwhelming and I wouldn’t come back. The icing on the cake was the tip request at the end. It was a 21 min massage and tips according to their sheet start from the 1hr services so not sure why there was an expectation for a tip after a short and rushed service. Note: they don’t ask the routine questions e.g trouble areas, if you’re pregnant or have any physical conditions etc. and you don’t sign any waiver forms.
I walked in out of curiosity and the receptionist told me there’s a weekly special, would I be interested. $59 for 30 min foot reflexology and 15 min body massage I also saw $20 for a 10 min scalp treatment so I asked to add that to the weekly special. The foot reflexology was underwhelming. He also didn’t ask whether his pressure was enough. But when he massaged my neck, he had strength and hit the spot right on. I told him so, and he replied, "Thank you." The body massage was fully clothed with a towel on top. His pressure was strong and I felt relaxed, making me think I wish I requested a body massage rather than a foot reflexology. Now I know.
Relax, Renew and Refresh New spa at Newton, soothing ambience, good staff and service. I wanted to rate 4/5 as I was charged for an hour long, when I made an appointment for 30 min service. But can’t help it I was enjoying the experience and time passed by like anything. Owners should be accountable for the time and service they provide to their customers. A day at spa are necessity and not a luxury. Book your appointment today.
The decor, the music, the staff, the massage therapist are top notch. It was easy to call and book an appointment. I got there and was really impressed by the clean, spaciousness and the way it was set up. I also provided feedbacks on small things and they will implement them. Overall great experience.
Not as advertised! I was very disappointed. The services offered on the website for massage are misleading. I have had reflexology and tui na done regularly for decades. This felt like a money grab under the guise of holistic & TCM specialties. They totally missed the mark. They upsold me to a longer package and then only did half of what was promised, and again not very well. It was a far cry from Reflexoloy and only incorporated some tui-na, which by definition isn't really true tui-na since this method is meant to work the major muscle groups to function in balance across the whole body. They only did a little bit on my neck, arms and upper back. Like a chair massage, but laying down. I was hopeful, but will never go back. Total fraud...it almost felt like a scam. I guess if you know, you know.....and ignorance is bliss.
Okay so overall my friend and my experience there is good. The environment, decorations and music are comforting. Reflexologists adjusted the strength of massage quickly if we need so, and most importantly they’re friendly people. But the girl at the front desk is the worst part of the visit. I checked their official website before our visit and there’s no place directing me to make an appointment and it says walk in available, so I just walked in on the first day. The girl at the front desk is impolite(but not rude I think). The way and attitude she spoke to us is very uncomfortable, and not clear since she spoke in a low voice. We understand that walk-in is based on availability and we’ve prepared that we may need to wait one more day but we shouldn’t be informed in such way. Her attitude in the phone call making appointment is also impolite, with the least words she can use and cut off the call impatiently. I suspected that she even got my completed and right information. If your get relaxed for your body but the emotion/mind, then the quality of that visit really goes down. Find a better person, who knows how to work decently or properly at the front desk please. One more tip, if you use the cash to pay there’ll be discount. Cash paying also avoids you to spend the extra one dollar processing fee for the tips.
