Hing Wong Chinese Restaurant

I picked up a menu in store and decided to order another day for pick up. The price paid was a bit different from the price listed on the menu. The chicken fried rice was a bit hard and flavorless, seemly made from very old rice. The chicken wings were okay.

Hing Wong is a small Chinese takeout spot located right off Route 8 on Huntington Ave in Waterbury. Conveniently located across from Cumberland Farms, Hing Wong offers your classic varieties of American/New York-style Chinese Food. Similar to those classic hole-in-the wall places seen all over NYC, Hing Wong does not look like much on the outside, but that's okay because the food is excellent! All menu items are prepared fresh and are served in large portions at relatively cheap prices. Definitely check out their lunch specials where you can get a whole meal for under $10. My personal favorites are General Tso's Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Boneless Ribs, and Hunan Beef. Even if you are loyal to your current Chinese restaurant, definitely check this one out and work it into your rotation. Hing Wong is open 6 days a week and is available for dine-in(very small space), takeout, and delivery

Purchase order totaling $60. After purchase I realized that a free 2 liter was offered if order is paid with cash. Unfortunately I have already tapped my card during the competition. Ask representative for courtesy being that my order was over the $45 standard. Rep stated that they would lose too much money and declined my request further stating we don’t do that here. My order was 50 beverage wqs 3.49. I will not support this or these type of businesses anymore.

Ordered a small shrimp with garlic sauce which was tasty. $11 is expensive for 5 shrimp, overwhelming amount of veggies and no spicy.

Well The New Hing Wong Chinese restaurant is trash the rice was under cook, the egg roll was oily as hell and the inside of the egg roll was under cook too I would not recommend this place for being low energy and cheap.

Ordered take out recently and overall we enjoyed our food. 🙂 I would like to see slightly more vegetables in the lo mein and a little less oil, but overall everything we ordered was tasty and fresh. I was surprised however, to see no fortune cookies. We had what I think is sort of a large order (about $75) for just two people (we have different tastes) and I kinda feel like we could have at least received 2 cookies, like most restaurants traditionally give. For those reasons I would rate our overall experience 4 stars; food was delicious and we would order here again.

I feel bad that when I order I'm sometimes not feeling well but the soup it's something about it because it always makes me feel better I've had there pork fried rice and there food is great. And the smile I get when I get my food that's customer service. The atmosphere to me it's like walking in to one of the restaurants in China town New York City where I grew up it's a great feeling like you never want to leave. Well for me this is my experience.
