I like to come to the plaza where Chinchikurin is located and always wanted to try fresh Okonomiyaki. My wife surprised me by taking us here. We started out with some gyoza served up with a bit of yuzu paste and some ponzu sauce for dipping. A side of karaage wich comes on a bed of shredded cabbage and Kewpie mayo. We got their Tantamen noodle bowl and the Chinchikurinyaki Okinomiyaki. Everything was quite delicious and you could tell that they put a lot of love into their Hiroshima style culinary arts. They have many styles of Okonomiyaki to choose from. Ramen, takoyaki, yakisoba, and a good few other items on the menu can be found that are quite appealing. Our servers and staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant has a warm vibe, organized, clean, and welcoming. I definitely look forward to a return visit and try more items on the menu. I haven't done this in quite some time however this Japanese restaurant gets a give star review from me hands down and all around. So so good I am happy that my wife took us here!
We stopped by Okonomiyaki while visiting LA because we had just watched a Hiroshima-yaki video—and wow, it did not disappoint. The food was so good that we actually came back one more time before our flight out of LA. We tried the tan tan noodles and the okonomiyaki, and both were absolutely delicious. The flavors were spot on and everything tasted fresh. On our second visit, Den was our server and really made the experience even better. Super friendly, attentive, and added that extra touch of hospitality you’d expect from a great Japanese spot. Overall, highly recommend this place for amazing food and a great time. Definitely worth a visit (or two)!
It was my first time here. I really liked the grilled squid and Takoyaki—the taste and texture were just right! However, the mochi wrapped with sliced pork was mediocre, and I felt the same way about their signature okonomiyaki. I will be back again to try more of their menu, though.
Spicy one is a little too spicy, order one to share is totally enough. No need toppings, it’s big. We like the flavor that has meat inside. GOAM flavor - we don’t care for this one. ChinchinkuriYaki - our favorite, light but flavorful, the green onion adds a lot of flavor. Pork Mochi - interesting 4/5
I finally got to try Chinchikurin in Torrence, and their okonomiyaki did not disappoint! The flavor was spot on—savory, satisfying, and cooked just right. The portion size was perfect, filling but not overwhelming. They also have other options if you’re not in the mood for okonomiyaki, which is nice! It’s definitely not the cheapest place for okonomiyaki, but the quality makes it worth it. Plus, the service was super friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. If you’re craving authentic Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, this spot is definitely worth a visit!
Unique food you don’t see much of. Great presentation and tasted pretty good. Would def recommend if you never had this type of food
Service is always lovely and the food is delicious. I've been at least 5 times, solo, as a couple, with a group and it's always be the same quality food and service.
