Went here for dinner with some friends and had a good time. We got the corn cheese, short rib, and beef tartare. Everything tasted great and authentic. Short rib was tender, corn cheese was warm and cheesy, and the tartare was fresh. Staff was nice and kind. Chill atmosphere, not too loud. LOVE the playlist. Good spot if you're craving Korean BBQ. Would come back.

I enjoyed it overall for one time visit but unclear if I’d plan for revisiting. -Meat quality was good enough but the price point was bit higher than what I wanted to pay. -Mashed potato as a small side dish in particular was awful; it had seemingly buttery flavor in it but the temp of it was so cold. So basically cold buttery taste. Yuck. -Steamed egg was exactly what I was looking for and loved it; fluffy balooned form of egg dish that was well savory. -FYI this place is self service place for grilling your meats, while often other Korean bbq places do it for you.

I always have a great time at Son of Butcher. The owner and the staff are friendly. The food is fresh and great. I usually get the beef combo for grilling and some tapas when I’m with friends. You can also have the meals with the meat already cooked. So when alone i usually do that. Steamed eggs, briskets and rice are my go to when solo. The noodles and soup dishes are also great. If you are unsure what to get they are also great suggestions.

Food was terrific. We got the beef bulgogi (best I've had), spicy pork short rib (very good), and the brisket. Sauces were great, and the sides were good. Happy hour from 5-6 is a good deal as well.

We ordered thin pork belly and beef slices. The pork belly was not bad but beef was just average. The dakgalbi was good but it said it has rice cakes but we literally only found three and the portion was smaller than pictures. The side dishes were a hit and miss they had a strange pasta that just tasted like plain cooked pasta, and the asparagus was old and tough to chew. The mash potatoes and kimchi were good! When we went it was really loud but that definitely depends on who you sit next to.

The venue has limited parking outside, and is very clean and welcoming. We ordered the pork combo and there was a lot of food. Our favourite cut was actually the spicy ribs, they were super tasty, while other cuts were nice it didn't stand out. The service was excellent, friendly and attentive. However the bill was very high, it came to just over $100 per person, also watch out for the suggested tip calculation, they calculated based on total after tax, but it should've been total before tax.
