I really enjoyed beef back bone soup with glass noodles recommended by the cashier. The soup was flavorful, the meat isn’t too soft or chewy it’s just right. The price is a bit high compared to other food court places. Cashier was nice, quick service. Will come back to try other dishes.
Spicy Soondae Combo! Open early and good taste! Suggest to bring your own water bottle. Otherwise, U need to buy one bottle at $1. Or you have to serve yourself.
TL;DR: Great variety of soups and SO flavorful This spot is located at the food court inside of H-Mart. Visiting San Diego and was craving some Korean soup. When I found this spot, first things that caught my eye was pork gukbap and soondae guk, both of which options are limited/non-existent back at home. SERVICE: Very friendly. You order, pay, they give you a beeper, and then find a table. There are a lot of other vendors too, so it was fun to walk around and see what they had. FOOD: ~Pork Gukbap (5/5): had so much good flavor. The depth of flavor in the soup was so good, and the pieces of pork in it was so tender and melt in your mouth good. You get to season it yourself so that you can get it just to your liking. ~Spicy Soondae Guk (5/5): This was SO GOOD. Flavor bomb and just spicy enough. Decent amount of meat and soondae in it. ~Soondae & Pork Sampler Plate (3/5): Soondae was okay but a little overcooked (bursting, but not in a good way). The pork sampler was a mixed bag. Some pieces were tender and some were dry and rough, but overall flavor was okay. Overall, this place definitely won me over with their soups.
I ordered the Sundae set online. Everything else was fine—packaging was neat, and the food looked good. But they didn’t include chopsticks or a spoon, and they also left out the spicy paste, salted shrimp, and salt. Are you kidding me? Am I supposed to eat the soup without the paste or salt, and the sundae without any seasoning, using my hands? Completely unacceptable.
I visited the restaurant again today after a previous issue with my takeout order. The owner sincerely apologized for the mistake, clearly explained what had happened, and handled the situation very professionally. They were incredibly kind and immediately prepared the same dish we had ordered before (of course, free of charge!). I had been quite disappointed before, but their thoughtful response completely changed my impression. It really showed that they care about their customers and are willing to correct and improve when something goes wrong. I’m very satisfied with the food this time and will definitely come back again. Thank you for the great service!
If I could give 6/5 stars, I would. Service and food was awesome! I always order the number 9 which is the beef back rib soup (갈비탕) and I add tendon in it. It is worth the extra cost every time! A must visit spot for people who like Korean soups!
Overall good tasting but a suggestion regarding the $25 beef tendon plate. The portion is large, expensive and so awkward. Not many people want this as their only entree, and it’s still too big to share between 2 people. I would prefer a smaller portion for less cost. And include rice.
