Vons Chicken

The cheese buldak here is sooooo good. The chicken is kinda spicy, but the layer of melted cheese helps to cut down the spice. It's perfect for a cold night. The garlic chicken here is also crispy and tasty.

I heard good things about Vons and was not disappointed. The quality of the chicken can vary month to month, but the flavor and crisp is top notch. I love a good Korean fried chicken and Vons delivers there and more. The additional seasonings are great and the sides make the show. Japchae, dumplings, and tteokbokki are our go-tos here. We always do takeout, but the dining area is clean, albeit cramped. Anytime friends or family visit and mention fried chicken, we point them to Vons.

If you’re talking best chicken wings in town, Vons Chicken does it right. These aren’t just wings they make love to their chicken. Every bite tastes like endless preparation, care, and straight up obsession with quality. Crispy, juicy, perfectly seasoned, and coated just right it’s impossible not to keep eating even when you’re already full. The kind of place where you say "one more" about ten times and suddenly the plate is gone. And don’t sleep on the sides they’re delicious and actually hold their own, not just fillers. Everything feels intentional and dialed in. This is comfort food turned up to another level. If you’re in Redwood City and craving wings that truly hit, Vons Chicken is the spot. Wow is honestly the only word that fits.

I've heard such good things about Vons Chicken, so this place has been on my list of places to try. As much as I want to love this place, I have to be honest. The cashier was very friendly and helpful, which made the service 5 stars. The atmosphere here is quaint and comfortable. They even have an outdoor seating area where you can enjoy your meal. Depending on weather conditions, this could be quite enjoyable. Food. I must say that fried chicken is my all-time favorite food 😋 After perusing the menu earlier in the day, I decided to ha e the crispy fried chicken. Be advised that this takes approximately 30 minutes to cook, per order. Orders are available in half and full size, and you can choose from drumsticks, thighs, combo (drums & thighs), or wings (drumettes and flats). I went with the full order of wings. I added on a mini salad, fries, extra ranch, and honey butter. Total: $54+ Salad: nice and fresh Fries: crispy and tasty Chicken: hot and crispy, but super bland. It was truly a disappointment. A touch of salt after frying would go a long way. Honey butter: is in a powder. Way too sweet for my liking. Ranch: Really tasty. Please note that there are other chicken options that come with added sauces drizzled on top. As a fried chicken enthusiast, I opted for the regular crispy fried chicken so I could taste the unadulterated version. I will say that chicken was cooked nicely, but it was just lacking so much flavor. Especially for the price. As mentioned, a touch of salt after frying would work wonders. Brining the chicken overnight would put it over the top. Well, that's my take on Vons Chicken. Extremely good fried chicken that is cooked to order. Plan on a 25-30 minute wait for your order, but well worth it. Best take-out fried chicken I have found in the Bay Area. The onion rings were excellent as well. Plus, the staff take the extra measure to carefully box your order so that it stays crispy when you get it home. I have to travel 20 minutes to get home from my local Von's location and my order was still hot and crispy when I arrived!

Food: Rice sticks (app), sweet cheddar wings, yang nyum boneless Chicken was juicy and perfectly fried. Rice sticks were a little chewy but great flavor. Outdoor seating was cute as well. Dinner menu was a little pricey

Wow! This place focuses on packing immense amounts of flavor into every bite. The hot Crispy Yangnyeom Chicken tastes like your taste buds are being interrogated by officers Sweet and Heat doing a good cop, bad cop routine. It was a brutal, grueling experience, and I loved every minute. Tears in my eyes, chugging my water, I would have said anything for another bite of that fiery chicken. The paired pickled radish does an excellent job of neutralizing the heat if it gets to be too much. The honey butter fries were very unique, and I was so glad I tried them. The sweet paired well, and I kept reaching for "one more." Service was good, and they ensured I had plenty of water to slake my thirst.
