A dining experience reminiscent of Benihana, — well-trained chefs grill up teppanyaki orders in front of diners, with more than a few noteworthy tricks. Starting with a massive flame, eggs are juggled with spatulas, vegetables are flung into diners’ mouths. While entertaining, the teppanyaki dishes are heavy on butter and doused with a little too much sweet sauce. The sushi, however, was more than decent and quite expertly prepared — a happy surprise considering the distance from both sea and big city. Overall, a good option when seeking Japanese flavors in Redding — characterized more by its comforting nature than as a high cuisine.

Awesome experience! Great food! If you get Louise as your chef, you are in for a treat. He was funny and skilled. We had so much fun watching him. The food was a little expensive, but totally worth it. The other servers were also very attentive and quick to get us anything we asked for. I wish I could afford to go there more often but it was an experience to remember. Thank you Louise!

We came out here for my parents 40 year anniversary since this area is nicer and quieter than the bay area. The sushi was pretty good but the steaks were pretty bland. It felt like they had little to no seasoning and the meat didn't pack enough flavor on its own. Besides that the place was nice and maybe ill try the whole sushi menu but I do hope they add some seasoning to the steaks in the future.

Made reservations for 7:30pm last night for my husband’s 40th birthday. We never have time for date nights so this was supposed to be a special experience, also it was the big 40. We showed up on time, the hostess was so sweet, said it would be a couple minutes. A couple minutes later she said it’s going to just be a few more minutes, we’re waiting for the chef. A few minutes later she sits us at a table and tells us it’s going to be just a little bit of a wait for the chef again. We sat there until 8:30, still no chef. The server was very rushy, while I was still talking, walked away hurriedly without even glancing at me when I was trying to ask for another cup of water, and tell them they gave us an empty wrapper that was supposed to contain chopsticks. The grill and table were not clean upon us sitting down which to keep wasn’t a good look, even if they were going to clean it before use. There was rice and crumbs on the grill as well as around the grill on the table, table was smeary, menus were mucky. We ended up leaving and getting chipotle. We were polite the entire time, and when the hostess, (who was the only good part of the experience), told the server we were leaving… the server replied "good." And told us she comped the little salad they give you before the chef comes. Very disappointed.

A really good spot for celebrating. They've got fun engaging chefs that kept the whole table engaged and didn't let me feel left out, despite me not doing butter (my food was prepared in the back). A bit pricy, but it's dinner and a show. Expect to spend a couple hours here

This was a great experience. The food was great. The service was fantastic. I was frankly surprised at the quality of fish, the superb cuts and the various rolls. We spent $120 for 3 people, but in today's economy, I felt that was fair. Goyza and a steak skewer (cooked at a perfect medium) app, hibachi chicken, veg and soup, a tiger roll, a combo with cali roll, nigiri and sushi and a avo roll with a decadent dessert. Parking is street, but not difficult, at least at the time we were there (a little after noon on a weekday). My wife and I will be going back for dinner in the near future.

10/19/23 Birthday dinner here was awesome as always! We love to sit at the sushi bar and the amazing Mallory was our server. This young lady is absolutely the most charming, beautiful and intelligent server ever! The older gentleman was our sushi Chef and he rocked it. This man is a master! The plates were colorful, arranged perfectly, and delicious! Mallory makes you feel at home and appreciated. The people here make your dinner a dining experience! We can't wait to return! And I got the most delicious free dessert for my birthday! 7/11/23 We have dinner here once a month. Occasionally we do the tabenaki but primarily we eat sushi at the bar. Service is fantastic and the two sushi chefs are amazing! Freshest seafood in town and these chefs rock! Everything we have had is beyond compare and absolutely the best when you're in northern California! Do yourself a favor and dine at Kobe tonight!
