Maaaaan ! I try my best to describe AMAZING. This was our first time here , I was not disappointed one bit . The service was incredible from beginning to end , restrooms , super clean . Live music , the whole atmosphere made me feel like so amazing, like I just won a million dollars . Luxury wrapped in good vibes ! Amanda our server was the best ! The smoke and mango cocktail , was perfect, me and wife had the Land land , sea appetizer , I ate most of it myself. It was so good I ordered one to go ! My wife had the Miso glazed salmon, which was delicious, I had to try a bit 😀 . Cooked perfect and tasted perfect. I ordered a Blue cheese crusted NY steak . It was really good , something different from what I've had before, but i was not disappointed. Sometimes we need to treat ourselves to the good this in life and Surla's is one of those things . For a nice classy luxurious dinner , come here . Perfect for any occasion and the whole family, if you live or are passing through Modesto Ca , this is a must try . For the price , you get a lot more .

Live soft music filled the space, creating an atmosphere that felt both intimate and unpretentious, setting the stage for a memorable evening. The evening began with a red velvet cocktail, a clever creation that balanced sweetness and depth with finesse. The flavors were harmoniously infused, each sip revealing a layered complexity that lingered pleasantly on the palate. For the starter, the meatballs arrived perfectly sauced bold, rich, and beautifully textured. The seasoning struck a satisfying balance between hearty and refined. A dish of lumpia followed, light and indulgent in equal measure, each bite delivering a delicate crispness that gave way to a tender interior. The main course steak was the evening’s highlight: impeccably cooked, well-rested, and bursting with flavor. My fiancee took me SURLA's for a date night 🌃 and we arrived at good time. Plenty of parking, the host asked where we would like to sit, and immediately waters were brought to our table. The dinner lighting is perfect, classy, clean restaurant, and modern decor. The mixed drink was well prepared, food was flavorful and the waitress 🤵🏻‍♀️ checked on us often. I had a Fina Colada and the Miso Glazed Salmon yummy! 😋. As a fellow foodie SURLA's is on my list of good vibes and places to eat. 🫶🏻

I don't usually leave reviews but this one was bad enough for me to write about it. It was our first time and will be our last time there. We were a guest party of 6, we didn't make a reservation because we were unsure of how many people were going to attend. They were almost a full house in the main area so they seated up at a table of 4 with 2 chairs on the side which was a tight seating to only then find out they had a second eating area with available seating that they opened up. We were served champagne right away and then water a little later but getting refills on those is what made everything upsetting. There were 2 large parties and they were getting served consistently while for us it was hard just trying to get refills. When we asked for refills on water, champagne, and napkins our waitress seemed annoyed and she continued to serve her large table taking their empty plates. We had to ask the busboy because our waitress then disappeared. This was a buffet so the only thing our waitress would be doing is picking up the empty plates and serving the champagne. Overall poor service, great variety on food selection but it didn't have much flavor and too salty, nice atmosphere, and the music was too loud. I wanted to love and rave about this place but it was nothing but disappointing.

I went in for my anniversary got seated with menus which the bartender took?. Waited 10 mins to be able to ask for menus. Never was asked what we wanted to drink waited another 10 mins before we could get the bartender attention to order drinks. And I swear to God we waited even longer to put in our order for dinner. We were never asked how we were doing if we were ready to order NOTHING! I have never had such a bad dinning experience. I went in because I had seen several TikTok post about how good the food was which Indeed the food was amazing but the staff was a disappointment!!!!

I usually don’t give bad reviews, but making a reservation and getting here early and seated on time I thought the service would be better. We waited over 20 minutes and we were never acknowledged by any server. Three other parties came in after us and their orders were taken promptly. We were only approached after we got up and started to head towards the exit. Not sure if this is racial discrimination because my wife is black and the other patrons were mostly white, but I can’t help but feel this way. Pretty terrible way to celebrate our anniversary. They weren’t even busy crazy to think a Filipino owned restaurant had this bad of service, being pinoy myself I expected better.

Amanda was our server tonight and she was so kind , friendly and very patient with my husbands questions with worries of Gluten being in his dish . She gave many alternative options and they were delicious! Chef Surla was very kind as well! They had lovely live music with a gentleman with a guitar and the flavor of the dishes were on point! Thank you ! We will be coming back when we visit Modesto.
