Bulgogi is my go-to for my first time at a new Korean restaurant. It was just okay. It lacked flavor overall. It was served on a cast iron skillet but the skillet wasn't hot, so the meat was watery and didn't caramelize to provide that malliard effect. The spicy shrimp was good but lacked flavor except for the spice. I would come back if friend close this place, but I would choose to try a different Korean restaurant first.
This is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE restaurant and I come here for celebrations! The food is authentic and amazing! I have NEVER had anything tha wasn’t good here! They know how to handle food and the setting is perfect! Lots of options and fresh quality food! HIGHLY RECOMMEND
I've been to Gogi multiple times, and I try to eat something different each trip, but the Yuk Gae Jang is now my favorite thing on the menu, and I don't know if I'll order anything else ever again. The broth was so flavorful and well seasoned, the glass noodles and veggies were cooked to perfection, and the brisket was really the star of the show. Such a large portion too, I happily took the rest home for leftovers. Service was quick, our waitress was prompt and polite, we were seated immediately around 3:30PM, and I never had an empty glass of water. Can't wait to come back!
I went here when it first opened and it was decent but today I visited again. I paid $30 for the worst food ever. I got the Japchae, one of my favorite Korean meals. The noodles were over cooked it seemed because they were gummy-like and hard to chew. The beef was low quality and lacked flavor and on top of that I found a piece of plastic in my food. Also, I’m pretty sure I saw black mold growing on the wall of the restaurant.
The first time I went was on a Wednesday evening at 5pm. The service was phenomenal and the food was amazing, hot and flavorful. I recently went on Saturday evening for dinner. Once again the service was phenomenal. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for the food. Totally the opposite of what I thought I would get. The hot bowl had cold food on top, my egg didn’t even began to cook until I flipped it to the bottom of the bowl. Lesson learned.
Been here many times since the very beginning and this place just doesn’t hit the same anymore. Food is ok, but the quality has definitely been going down. Not to mention, the service is just not it (especially on their busiest days). Me and my fiance always wondered what happened to the previous servers/staff because they always made our dining experience fun and enjoyable. It was always nice seeing our favorite servers everytime we come in. Still love this place and we hope the restaurant bounces back to how it was previously.
We stopped by today (11/17/2024) on our way back home from KY. The restaurant wasn't too busy since it was around 3:30PM. We ordered LA galbi to share between my husband and I. Our daughter had the beef bulgogi kids meal. We also ordered beef Gimbap and garlic soy chicken wings. The LA galbi was soooo good! It was smokey and tender. The gimbab was good with plenty of fillings (beef, sautéed spinach, pickled radish, cucumbers and eggs). The chicken wings were crispy and sweet and salty and garlicky. The beef bulgogi was good too, of course. We were given kimchi, radish kimchi, marinated potato and seasoned bean sprouts as our Banchan (side dishes) and they were so fresh tasting. Definitely great paired with the LA galbi. The service was great. Our server (I didn't catch his name) was very attentive. The restaurant was clean and beautiful. The music was a bit loud but we were still able to hear each other talk. It was our first time here and we will definitely be back!
