So Gong Dong Tofu & BBQ

I absolutely love Korean food, and I was so happy to find this place so close to my home! I ordered the special combo with beef ribs and tofu soup, and it came with six delicious side dishes. I finished everything—not a single bite left! The restaurant is clean, the food came out within a reasonable wait time, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended!

Very delicious Korean soondubu, one of the best in Irvine. It's just as good or even better than BCD tofu (depending on your taste). I like that the ban chan (appetizer dishes) can be refilled, they are delicious although I wish they also had potato salad. The beef tofu broth is very savory and delicious. I order the no spicy version to taste the original broth. They also serve the rice in the hot stone pot which isn't always found in every soondubu place now. The seafood pancake is very crispy and goes well with their sauce, recommend to try it. The portions are very large so it's likely you'll need a takeout box for everything, so you can enjoy a second time! Will be returning for a delicious meal. Lovely owner as well!

So Gong Dong Tofu & BBQ never disappoints us, especially when it comes to their hot pots. We almost always go for the seafood and vegetarian options, and they are consistently delicious—rich, comforting, and full of depth. The flavors are well balanced and dependable every single time, which is something we truly appreciate. The chicken bibimbap is my husband’s favorite. The bowl is generously filled with flavorful, well-seasoned chicken and a colorful mix of vegetables, all coming together beautifully. Each bite is satisfying, hearty, and packed with taste. Overall, it’s a place we keep coming back to for its consistency, comforting dishes, and reliably great flavors.

The tofu is good. Their regular spicy is not spicy at all. If you want more kick. Make sure you get the spicy level. Their khalbi is more tough than other tofu houses.

Top notch soondubu. Very flavorful broth and excellent service. Location: Same parking lot as the burger king. Ordered hot stone bimbimbap and dumpling Tofu soup. Both were fantastic tasting, and they come in HOT! Like cooks your egg really quick and continues boiling for a good 10 minutes hot. Bimbimbap Stone is also super hot so you get a nice crust underneath. Definitely would go again.

Great food. About a 25-35 minute wait with not too many tables inside. Seating was at capacity an hour and a half prior to closing. The dishes were delicious, and the spiciest selection is not too spicy. The free sides were tasty and were refilled regularly. Offered hot tea and water. Appetizers were good. The veggie spring rolls are tasty.

I’m going with 5 stars because , even though I felt it took a little long given that there weren’t many guests , the staff was attentive. When the food came I could tell it was fresh and made well. I was very pleased with my dinner and I will come back when I’m in the area. I had a bulgogi beef bento box. Reasonably priced. It was delish!
