AKA-ONI Japanese BBQ AYCE Restaurant

ALWAYS 5 stars! We've been 3 times in a month-ish! We live a little south but this place is not only a deal for their excellent, extensive choices but amazing service as well! The owner is always onsite and has a very warming story about the creation of this restaurant. It truly is amazing. You receive a tablet and scroll through selecting your choices which go straight back to the kitchen. They come to your table with your fresh appetizers, fresh veggies and very fresh meats and from there you're set to grill your heart out. If you choose to you're also able to ask for a fresh grill after cooking each meat too! It's promptly exchanged which is what we do between chicken, meat or seafood 😁. It's a great place for small or large parties! You can't make a better decision than trying this place out and making it a regular spot to have an excellent, affordable meal or celebration! Make sure you save room for fruits, a chocolate fountain, cookies and most importantly .... S'mores! Excellent touch!

If you’re looking for an amazing all you can eat Japanese BBQ in Indianapolis, Aka Oni AYCE is absolutely worth visiting. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is fun, modern, and perfect for a casual dinner, date night, or going out with friends. The food is the real highlight here. They offer a great selection of fresh cuts of meat, seafood, and vegetables that you grill right at your table. Everything tasted fresh and high quality, and I loved that they provide a grill-time guide to help you cook each cut perfectly such a thoughtful touch, especially if it’s your first time doing Japanese BBQ. The flavors were delicious, the portions generous, and the experience itself is interactive and enjoyable. On top of that, the staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the meal. Overall, Aka Oni AYCE in Indianapolis delivers a great combination of quality food, fun experience, and welcoming service. Highly recommend if you’re craving Japanese BBQ, AYCE dining, or a unique grill at the table experience in Indy. I’ll definitely be back!

I absolutely loved this. We went here with my 24 yo son and he did all the cooking because he had such a great time. The food is amazing. It’s all inclusive, and they have a huge variety of meats, seafood, vegetables etc. You have a two hour dining limit time. But with three of us, we were finished in plenty of time. It was such a fun experience. I enjoyed learning that the difference between Japanese barbecue and Korean barbecue is sauce. They also have several different saki flavored mixed drinks. I definitely will be going back.

This is a must try! We went during the soft opening and everything was so good! The amount of all you can eat sides was so surprising! We had so much seafood udon and vegetable tempura. The meat was so tender and flavorful. And the desserts were our daughter’s favorites (2yo and 1yo). Hard to beat s’mores lol. We spoke to one of the managers and she was so welcoming. We will definitely be back!

Me and my partner have been waiting to try this place since it has opened, and it exceeded our expectations! Sisca, our server, was amazing and walked us through the menu and gave us a rundown on how everything worked. She was so kind and patient and overall just amazing! The food was absolutely delicious and we can’t wait to come back and visit again!!

If you’re looking for the best AYCE (All You Can Eat) restaurant, you’ve found it! Their menu has it all—delicious starters, mouthwatering meats, and delightful desserts. Everything is super fresh and packed with flavor. You won’t leave hungry!

We stopped at AKA-ONI Japanese BBQ AYCE in Indianapolis on Presidents Day while passing through with family. We live about 4 hours away and this ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. We’re already talking about finding excuses to come back just so we can eat here again. It was that worth it. We were honestly taken aback right away by the decor, the cleanliness, the service, and the food quality. We actually forgot to take pictures because we just got lost in the welcoming atmosphere and enjoyed the experience. Ordering on the tablet was simple and food came out quickly in small portions so we could try a lot without wasting anything. Nothing sat around getting cold and the pacing felt really well handled. The very first bite of the beef finger rib sold us. It was tender, juicy, and perfectly caramelized on the grill and we immediately ordered more. The beef brisket and chuck eye were both great, and the beef tongue honestly melted in your mouth. Everything had a rich savory flavor without being greasy or heavy so we could actually keep enjoying each round. We were also surprised to see scallops on the menu and were able to cook them perfectly on the grill. The seafood stir fry udon was delicious and outside the grill items the Beef Don was comforting and the shrimp fried rice had great texture and flavor instead of just being filler. The matcha ice cream was a huge highlight. You can tell it’s made in house. The texture was smooth and the matcha flavor was rich but balanced and not overly sweet. A lot of effort clearly went into making it right. If you visit on a day they serve it you should absolutely get it. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were very friendly and attentive. They changed the grill at the right times and checked in often without hovering. We didn’t go for any celebration but honestly the quality and service made it feel like one. Overall the food stayed perfectly savory without being oily and the whole experience felt higher quality than most all you can eat places we’ve tried. We came from hours away and still can’t stop thinking about it.
