Il Me Jung is a solid spot for authentic Korean seafood. The highlight here is definitely the raw small octopus and soy marinated crab (ganjang gejang). Both dishes are very fresh and prepared in a traditional style. That being said, these are raw dishes with very unique textures and flavors. If you’re not used to eating raw octopus or marinated raw crab, it might feel a bit unfamiliar at first. I would recommend going with someone who enjoys Korean seafood so you can try a variety of dishes. Overall, the food quality is good and the experience feels authentic. Just be aware of the specialty items before ordering.

This restaurant is amazing! Delicious! Authentic Korean cooking! I don’t understand how the it only got 4.1 on google review. It definitely a shame to see a good restaurant have such a low rating. It’s the best Korean restaurant I have visited in Houston. Great variety of food choices. The lunch specials are reasonably priced. I love the seafood dolsol bibimban, soon tofu jigae, bibim hangmian. Soy crab! Everything we ordered was 10/10 quality and portion. It deserves higher rating!!!!

Love this place for its fresh ingredients, diverse menu, and attentive service. The banchan portions are generous and tasty. I had Medium Fresh Sashimi, Raw Marinated Crab, and Seafood Pancake — can’t wait to try more dishes!

I believe they’re the ONLY Korean restaurant in town that serves soy sauce marinated crabs. I was in South Korea this past summer and this restaurant reminds me of the food I had there.

I come here because of their marinated raw crab. The dish was not good for me because it was too salty, I can’t finish the whole dish. Otherwise, their kimchi soup is really good. And the lady was really nice.

Indeed a Korean hidden gem. Very typical atmosphere for an authentic Korean restaurant. Everyone around me speaks Korean. The food was absolutely delicious, incl banchan. Can highly recommend pork potato stew (Nr 64), and anything stir fry. Portions are big too
