Update: January 23rd, 2026 - Still an excellent restaurant! Parking was a nightmare again as well. I'd probably door dash or get takeout if it's your first time. -Original Review- Fantastic comfort food for a rainy day! This was our first visit and I'm impressed. We both got curry, chicken for her and pork for me. The dishes were sizable! We each had enough left over for lunch the next day. The ingredients were excellent and everything was cooked perfectly. I think the chicken beat the pork, but only slightly. Prices are reasonable for the era and portion size. Everything was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and efficient. Parking was a nightmare.
WOW! I drove a hour and a half to go to a pop up bakery shop and saw this place which I’ve had saved in my "to try places" for a while across the street and decided today I was going to try them as well. This has to be the BEST chicken curry katsu I’ve ever tried and I LOVE chicken curry katsu. I didn’t not expect it to be this good. I definitely will be making the 1hr and half drive again just so I can eat here again. So worth it 🤤
KCM, I don't understand all the 5 stars. Famous for curry so I got the hire katsu curry, same as Tonkatsu but thicker cut. Is it good, yes it is good. But same as other curry in other Japanese restaurant. I can't tell any other difference. Also the pork is too pink in the center for my liking and the batter is not crispy enough. They should switch to thinner Tonkatsu if they can't control the cooking time
KCM has been on my radar for a while, so decided to check the place out during a recent road-trip with my son. I did know that they had a NYT write-up for their Hare Katsu, so that was a must. Pretty unadorned restaurant store front with order counter directly as you walk in. Our order was taken quickly and we were given a number and told to take a seat at one of the tables around the corner. Son got the Chicken Katsu, so we shared Hare and Chicken. Also got the Spicy Kimbap appetizer which was huge. Served with some miso soup and some pickled veggies. Everything was delicious, so it earned all the favorable reviews. The katsu had the perfect amount of breading. We preferred the Hare. The curry was excellent with just a bit of heat. Thought the Kimbap would need some sauce, but it was very good without anything. Will be back since it’s not too far from Sacred Springs.
First things first the food here has yet to disappoint. The FLAVORSSSS are on point. 💯My boyfriend and I always come in, and get carry out, and it is always fresh. The restaurant is very clean and the service is quick. It might take a moment to find parking, but trust me when I say it is well worth it.
I went with a friend for the first time about a month ago. The wait was very long for food, but it wasn't too bad. We both really enjoyed the curry, but the chicken katsu sando wasn't our favorite. It wasn't bad by any means, but I think it tasted different than I thought it would, which is perfectly fine! I would definitely come back for the curry and to try the match ice cream!
The food was delicious. I've been craving some Japanese food and I'm glad my best friend said let's go. The service was great, and everyone was super nice and easy to talk to. Will definitely go back.
