Tanuki Ramen is definitely a hidden gem! The ramen is incredibly tasty — rich broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and flavorful toppings that really hit the spot. Their grilled wagyu beef is a must-try — tender, juicy, and cooked just right. The restaurant is very clean and has a nice, welcoming atmosphere. The customer service is also top-notch — everyone is friendly and attentive, making the whole dining experience even better. Highly recommend Tanuki Ramen for anyone craving a satisfying and well-balanced meal! 🍜🔥 My favorite fishes are black mayu tonkotsu ramen, grilled chicken hearts, grilled beef tongue with sauce, grilled wagyu, beef tongue curry ramen ❤️
We finally made it in for our first time and man, da food was so ono! Ono meaning really in Hawaii Pidgin' talk 😆😅 IYKYK! We were greeted the moment we walked in and lemme tell you, the staff was on it with us from beginning to end. Friendly, courteous, helpful, and not to mention fast! 🤣😆 For myself, I ordered R8, Tenzaru Soba (Chilled) cold noodle and D6, Curry Chicken Katsu Don. The family had Miso Tonkotsu Ramen and Chicken Katsu Don. Everything tasted great and service was on point tonight! We will definitely be back again!
⸻ I got here right before closing, but the staff was still extremely friendly and inviting. They even gave me options on where to sit. There was a cute booth in the back corner meant for two, and since I came solo, it was perfect. They handed me three menus, and since it was already late, I didn’t want to take up too much of their time. My server—Henry, I believe (his name was on the receipt)—came over and made some recommendations based on my usual flavor preferences. I told him I typically like a spicy pork broth, and we decided on the R4 Miso Tonkotsu Ramen. He mentioned that he could make any ramen spicy. The ramen itself wasn’t very spicy, though still flavorful. I do have a high spice tolerance, so I probably could’ve asked for more heat, but since it was near closing, I didn’t want to inconvenience them (even though I’m sure they wouldn’t have minded). The broth was tasty, the ground pork was seasoned well, and the pork belly was tender. But the highlight of the night was definitely the soft-boiled marinated egg. They serve it whole—not cut in half like most places do—and I’m glad I waited until near the end to take a bite, because its flavor was so rich it made the entire bowl of ramen seem a bit lackluster in comparison. That says more about how good the egg was than anything else, because overall, the ramen was still very good! I also ordered a bottle of cold sake, the JG Kikusui (300ml). It was fresh and crisp, though the finish wasn’t quite as clean as I usually prefer. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place and what I ordered. I can’t wait to come back and maybe try a different sake, spice up that ramen or try one of the other ones!
This is a wonderful dedicated ramen spot (no sushi here) where the staff is lively and will remember you. The food is very good and the staples are executed extremely well. It also lets you branch out a little with foods you wouldn’t normally have, which I love. The decor is fun and kid friendly. And they have chop stick helpers for my daughter!
10/03/2025 @ 1:35 PM— First time here with such a great experience overall we decided midway while eating we would return to try more from the menu. The tonkatsu and shoyu ramen (with extra/double noodles) were delicious. The chashu meat was charred and tasted great with the ramen... and you get a whole egg in your ramen! The broth was seriously tasty, not heavy, and if you wanted you could ask for chili oil and chili seasonings like we did. The dinning atmosphere/ambience looks great; not too quiet music-wise, and the restroom was clean and cool (AC ventilated, not warm/hot). The servers (a young Asian male and female) always topped off on water refills and helped (the young Asian male) with a bit of suggestions since it's our first time. I would have asked for the server's names for proper recognition, but the restaurant was closing in a few minutes and we didn't want them to feel rush... the service was amazing nonetheless and the ramen was delicious.
While service and atmosphere were great, I do have a few criticisms. My girlfriend and I had ordered gyu-don and tonkatsu ramen. The flavors were okay. However, from my personal experience ordering gyu-don, I have never had my bowl bombarded by some sort of soup and butt load of onions inside. Extremely disappointing considering the $20 price point. As for the ramen, I found it to be mediocre for the price ($20). You could probably find better at Ramen 101. The service was 10/10 though. Great servers though.
The place definitely had the izakaya feel. Small space with a low light theme for a perfect dinner restaurant order. Ordered the spicy ramen. It was pretty good.
