Jesus was amazing, appreciated that he walked us through it step by step since it was our first time. He was thorough and detailed and very attentive. Food was amazing. I am a very picky eater and joked that I might just have to get the chicken nuggets off the bar but I was so wrong! I had SOOO many new things and it was all delicious.
The food was very delicious and the place itself was nice. However, I do not recommend this restaurant and I will not return because of what happened near the exit. We had not left yet—we only went to look at the ice cream located by the exit so we could check the ingredients and then return to our table to order. Two female staff members at the reception area were involved. One of them suddenly started yelling at me and my daughter for no valid reason. When I explained that the hostess had told us it was okay to check the ingredients, she continued yelling instead of listening. This behavior was aggressive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. There are many other places with far more polite and respectful staff than this one.
We dined in Christmas night for our first time at this establishment. Typhany (our server) , Ant and Felix (managers) were hands down amazing! I know working on Christmas is not the top of the list for anyone, but they didn’t miss a beat! Questions answered with a smile. miscommunication on a last second order of ice cream at closing, they handled it professionally with a smile. Hands down the best service I have had in a while. The food…. WORTH IT! Wonderful flavor and great selection. The experience as a foodie and lover of soju was a 10/10.
As a UNC student, I remember last year there wasn't a Korean BBQ restaurant close enough to campus. At least not one where you could grill your own meat. So when I learned of KPOT being open in New Hope Commons, I got really excited and knew I had to set aside a day to go! I went to KPOT for the first time on October 9th, having AYCE Korean BBQ at the lunch price. The ordering tablets threw me in a loop for a couple of minutes, but after a staff member explained how to use them, I was ready to go! I appreciate how there are portion and order limits to curb food waste and encourage customers to think about their stomach capacity before placing kitchen orders. I must admit—I got so full at the end that I almost couldn't take it. Nevertheless, the lunch price was of great value and I enjoyed all the food! I went for the 2nd time on Halloween with two friends of mine. We went to take advantage of the 20% off offer by dressing up, and during our visit we did Korean BBQ and Hot Pot. Like my first visit, I got realllllly full at the end. But it was just as enjoyable as my first visit. Main thing is that I wish the 20% discount had applied from the jump, because the three of us were all dressed up. Although when we brought it up, it didn't take long for management to refund us the original price (because we had already paid). Afterwards, our price was revised with the applied discount and we repaid. There are a lot of positives to KPOT. The meats and vegetables are flavorful and satisfying. The restaurant interior is really nice, especially with the eccentric blue lights. The mini buffet is a TRUE HIGHLIGHT—I love that there are small appetizers there! And I enjoyed creating my special sauce at the sauce bar. The only reason I deducted a star from my rating is because not enough lighting hits the grill when cooking the BBQ. Both times I visited it was hard for me to gauge when the meat was actually fully cooked. I even tried using my phone light during my first visit, but that solution was unsustainable. I know that the fans are above the grills for a purpose, but there should still be overhead lighting or some sort of side lighting inside the grill to help people see what they're cooking. I hope management fixes that within several months, because it would enhance the BBQ experience and make the restaurant a full 5 stars. All that's to say, if you're reading this review and wondering when to go to KPOT, do so anyway. And go ASAP. It's VERY tasty! Dinner is great, but I recommend going for lunch, because the value for that price is unbeatable! Affixed to my review are a few photos from my first visit to help convince you.
Amazing food and service. It was our first time going to a hot pot place. Our waiter did a really nice job showing us what to do and gave us excellent suggestions that tasted amazing!!! He agreed with us about the meat coma post-eating a big meal😊 Price can add up quickly. A meal for two adults with one boba tea each added up to about $120. Definitely worth it, but keep an eye on it so you don’t get any price shock.
Great place to go with friends, it’s nice that they have both hot pot and kbbq. We tried both for the experience and it was definitely worth it to get the hot pot, but mainly because the kbbq itself wasn’t cooking fast enough for 5 people. It was a good experience; the meat was solid but not amazing, some of it was a bit too chewy but overall we were able to eat a ton!! Solid place to go and the interior vibes are really nice. If you have a larger group I recommend hot pot so you can cook enough.
Great spot for Korean BBQ and hot pot! Fresh ingredients, delicious broths, and lots of variety. The restaurant is clean, the service is friendly, and the AYCE price is worth it. A fun place to eat with family or friends. Highly recommend!
