K Kimchi

K Kimchi Kumkangsan was not just a kimchi store but also a historic restaurant established in 1992 in Flushing. The owner successfully managed multiple locations in Manhattan and Flushing, a testament to its popularity and quality. Sadly, the restaurant had to close its doors during the pandemic. Known for its great kimchi and authentic Korean dishes, Kumkangsan was more than a dining spot—it was a cherished part of the community’s cultural and culinary fabric.

Feels like I'm having a meal at my Korean aunt's house down to the white lace tablecloth under a protective plastic coating!! You get unlimited rice, noodles, soup of the day and kimchi for $10, or you can order an entree and have all of that included in the entree price. Excellent quality and value! It's communal table seating 🙂

Great experience to try different types of kimchi for such a low price. Even if you plan just to have the rice and soup where can you find that anywhere else these days.

We came here when it first opened a couple of years ago and liked it, but then forgot about it as it is tucked away on Douglaston Pkwy. We decided to come try it yesterday and kicked ourselves for not coming again sooner. In a hot day their assorted kimchi's are so refreshing and delicious. They have a base for $10 which is a buffet of different types of kimchi, rice, soup of the day and somen noodles. But if you order anything from the menu, the base is included. My mom and I ordered grilled fish, which included her base, and I just ordered the additional base. Prices are very reasonable and the staff is so attentive. We enjoyed it so much, we came back again today!

The service was over the top great. The extremely friendly waitress doted on my toddler like he was her grandson, even feeding him! I’ve never had that happen in any restaurant ever. The food was also delicious. I appreciated the great variety of kimchi and other banchan.

Self-service kimchi buffet with one main dish that rotates daily, including curry, cabbage soup, tofu soup, et cetera.
