Tofu Bean Korean BBQ

A nice cozy place to eat. Great korean food! The soup is really good as well as the pork and beef dish we ordered! Love all the sides you get also. Good service. Great portions. We will come back to this place again.

The food here is good, and my fish portion was very large for the price. The rice portion in exchange isnt that big, but i dont mind since i dont eat that much rice anyway. However, note that the menu prices are calculated with a 4% cash discount in place. If you don't pay with cash, you will pay a slightly higher price than you see in the menu. I do think this fine print needs to be bigger since i didn't know until i read the sign at the cashier up front.

During Thanksgiving week, the kids were all off from school. After a morning hike with my little one in Diamond Bar, we found a Korean restaurant called Tofu Bean nearby and decided to grab lunch there. It was totally a random pick, but as soon as we walked in during lunchtime, the place was packed with local Koreans — which usually means the food is legit! The restaurant was super busy, definitely one of those neighborhood hidden gems.

I got the stone pot rice and tofu soup, specifically the kimchi and beef, and it tasted great. It stays hot for a long time, so you actually have to be careful. Full of flavor and very satisfying. The service was great, and the banchan was solid as well. The kimchi gets my approval. This has to be up there in my rankings of tofu soup places. I will definitely be back.

This is a soondubu (spicy silky soft tofu soup) restaurant like BCD chain. You can order combo menu with a meat or fish entree with a version of soondubu soup. You can select the spicy level and toppings for the soup. I thought the soup is really good but the meat dishes except for the LA rib were too sweet. Ban Chan (side dishes) were just average. For Diamond Bar I think this outlet is fine. There is plenty of parking in the shopping mall lot.

Personal opinion: when it comes to the taste of the food, young dong tofu is better. On the service side, this place is better. 12/7/24 update: had an early dinner here. Ordered spicy pork/tofu combo. Taste great.

The food is decent, the service is fine. Place is clean and tidy. However, they charge 18% gratuity for parties of 6+. This includes if the 6th person in your party is a BABY. Our party was 5 adults and 1 baby (under 1yr). Got charged the fee and they would not budge when we tried to dispute it. Will not return.
