I recently stopped by Basic Bird, and let me tell you this place is anything but "basic." From the first bite to the last, the food was absolutely phenomenal. I’m already planning my next trip back! Here were a couple of the stand out Dishes *Daikon Radishes: I’ll be honest, I didn't expect these to be a highlight, but they were surprisingly delicious. They offered the perfect crisp, refreshing crunch to balance the meal. *Mac and Cheese: This was an absolute **hit**. Creamy, rich, and seasoned to perfection—it’s the ultimate comfort food done right. *Bacon and Kimchi Fried Rice: This dish is a masterclass in flavor. The smoky bacon paired with the tangy kick of kimchi creates a savory depth that I couldn't get enough of. *Kimchi Cucumber: Fresh, spicy, and perfectly marinated. It’s the ideal side to keep your palate excited. --- The Verdict The quality of the ingredients and the creativity of the menu really set this place apart. It is rare to find a spot where every single side dish is just as impressive as the main event. I am 100% likely to return (and probably very soon). If you haven't been to Basic Bird yet, you are seriously missing out!
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Basic Bird. My wife and I split a five piece plate with the honey butter fries. The fries were delicious with one of a kind honey butter sauce and melted cheese on crispy well seasoned fries. We could have eaten two plates. The chicken tenders had a crispy, well seasoned exterior with tender chicken inside. We ordered the miso mac and cheese, Korean potato salad and braised sweet potatoes for our sides. All were packed with flavor. This was our first visit to Basic Bird and won't be our last!
Great place! I’m Korean-American, so I grew up eating Korean food. This place does a great job of finding creative and delicious ways to use traditional Korean ingredients! Restaurant was very clean and modern, staff was friendly and wait time was reasonable. 5/5 will be back!
This is probably the third time I've ordered. The fries, miso Mac & cheese, & rose pasta was Good. Our chicken wings & cauliflower were only partially covered in sauce, & noticed they changed the sides & made them smaller. The chicken wings also got smaller. The potato salad was very runny. The double dunk sauce is delicious but my cauliflower barely had any, it was actually more on the rice instead. The black garlic sauce was not good either. The first time we had basic bird it was good but the sides weren’t. The second time was ok, but this time it was the sides that was good & every thing else was very disappointing. & they put everything into this a paper box with a paper lining making everything soggy and the paper breaking apart in my food. I think I'll no longer be ordering here. Update: it was a 2 star for me, but changed it to a 1 star after finding bacon in my pasta when I asked for no bacon.
Don’t you hate when wings are soggy and you wonder if they’re even cooked all the way through? Not here! These wings are soooo crispy. Plus it’s $1 wing Wednesday so we tried every flavor. Ginger buffalo and creamy black garlic def my favs but they were all good. Lava egg yolk was super spicy tho 🥵 also got a bap bowl which was delicious. Will be back!
The building has a very cute mural on the side and is in a historic part of town. There were plenty of parking, although the spots were slightly small. The young lady at the counter was very friendly and helpful. The food: I ordered the Bird Basket, consisting of boneless chicken (thighs), choice of sauce and 3 sides. I chose a 5 piece with Double Dunk sauce, Miso Mac and Cheese Cabbage Kimchee, and Korean potato salad. The chicken was hot and crispy, cooked fresh to order and very moist on the inside. The flavor was a touch bland, not bad, but not what I had expected. The Kimchee was saltier than I remembered others having been, and very moldy flavored beyond that. The Korean potato salad was creamy, and had good flavor, very similar to a classic potato salad. Miso Mac and cheese was well cooked, creamy and had a nice flavor. Miso was not very pronounced though. Overall solid food, but a bit more bland than I expected. I would stop back in if I happened to be in the area, but most likely wouldn't make a special trip for it.
Yummy! Their chicken baskets were decently priced since you get 5 pc chicken, rice, and 3 sides. I got the honey butter, which was a little bland but still enjoyed it nonetheless. Fries were crispy and well-seasoned. Honestly, compared to restaurants like Applebee's, Basic Bird is way better in terms of food quality and price.
