LAON Korean Street Food

Saw their poster for the Dubai chewy cookie and had to stop in. Got both the original and matcha, plus kimchi fried rice, bulgogi kimbap and kupbap for takeout. The original cookie was less sweet than other places I've tried in the best way. Crisp texture, just right. The matcha wasn't bitter at all, more creamy and soft. Definitely coming back to grab more!!! The kimchi fried rice was buttery with chunks of army spam (favorite part), kimchi and cheese. Not spicy at all but so addictive. The bulgogi was the staff's recommendation and I get why it's their best seller... Fresh ingredients, well seasoned, you could taste everything individually. The spot is in a plaza near Target. Inside feels like a cute Korean convenience store, individual Korean ice cream bars (no more buying the whole pack at H-Mart 😭), hangang ramyun, alcohol, and Korean drinking game sets. Next time I'm coming back for the hangang ramyun and those games for sure!

A lovely Korean viral fast food spot! I think it's quite pricey compared to the food you get and the fact that this is in OC, but undeniably very delicious and addictive. They have instant ramyeon making machine, and you can add 3 toppings to it. Other dishes like seafood pancake and kimbap are very good. They also have the viral drink mix too.

Over cooked pork katsu was a bit tough to eat. The katsu sauce definitely tasted as if it came out of a Kikkoman katsu sauce bottle. The chicken pieces in my Dak-Gangjeong Cupbob was also burnt. Would be open to trying this place again for something else.

Checked out LA:ON in Cypress after hearing about it from a few friends, and it was definitely a solid spot. It’s self-serve with tablet ordering, easy to grab a table and get right into it. We got the cheese kimbap, pork cutlet kupbop, seafood green onion jeon, rosé tteokbokki, and ended with the Dubai chewy cookies. The pork cutlet kupbop was probably my favorite, filling and straight to the point. The seafood pancake was surprisingly well done, crispy on the edges but soft in the middle, and the Dubai chewy cookies were such a nice way to cap things off. Everything was fresh and hit that classic Korean street food comfort. Overall, it’s low-key, casual, and a dependable spot if you’re in North OC and want a solid Korean street food meal.

Great location to get your fill of Korean street food. The restaurant is decorated so smartly and very clean. The service is good. You order at the table on a tablet and they come serve you. They do check on you a few times as well. They offer some good deals for meals. And a BOGO 50% off deal on Wednesdays. They have lots of make yourself ramen choices and fun drinks. I especially like that you can customize your bowl orders. The food comes out hot and tasty! 😋

If you're in the area and haven't made it to LAON yet then you need to drop in, because you are really missing out! 🙂 For us it's a fam favorite, my daughter enjoys the ramen, my son loves the kimbob, my wife loves the rose tteok-bokki and fish cake soup, and I enjoy pretty much every cupbob option on the menu. I promise that there's something that you will call your favorite on this menu as well! The ambiance is always warm and welcoming, with a perfect mix of music and activity to keep things moving and entertaining, while still having good conversation with your party. This coupled with their wonderful service will have you enjoying your meal, leaving with smiles, and returning again soon after, I promise! 🙂

La:ON is such a hidden gem in Cypress! The vibe is fun and welcoming, the staff is so kind, and the food is incredible. I loved the bulgogi cupbop, the bulgogi kimbap, their DIY ramen, and the cheesy potato jeong—everything was flavorful and comforting. It’s rare to find a spot that feels this cozy and delicious. Can’t wait to come back!
