Hwan-Yeong Korean Restaurant in Brentwood had been on my list for a while, and I’m so glad I finally got the chance to try it. I came in around 11:30 and was warmly greeted and seated right away, setting a great tone for the meal. The restaurant was clean, and the employees were friendly, accommodating, and attentive throughout our visit. The menu offers so many options that it was honestly hard to choose—I already know this will take multiple visits. We ordered the lunch special spicy pork, gamjatang, coffee float, and a matcha latte, and every dish impressed. The flavors were executed beautifully, with nothing overpowering anything else. Everything tasted balanced and intentional. The gamjatang was a standout—it truly felt like a warm hug in a bowl, comforting and deeply flavorful. The lunch special was generous and came with mandu and japchae, both of which were delicious. The noodles were cooked perfectly, nice and savory. The banchans were all excellent, with the cucumber side dish being a personal favorite. From food to service, Hwan-Yeong delivered a wonderful experience. I’ll definitely be back to work my way through more of the menu—this place is absolutely worth repeat visits.

Food: Our simple Mackerel and Seafood Bibimbap dish were made perfectly. The explosion of flavors were very much comparable to what we had in Seoul. Authentic, delicious and made with care. Servings are enormous, could be shared between 2 or 3 people. Service: Our servers were friendly, knowledgeable, and made great recommendations. Very attentive to needs of customers. Will gladly refill side dishes. Ambiance: Lots of seating available. Good for date nights or friends and family get together. Value: Prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service. Definitely a gem! Will come back to try other dishes!

I was craving Korean food and have been wanting to try when I heard a restaurant was opening in Brentwood. When checking yelp, I was surprised to see how many people have reviewed along with the amount of stars consider it's a pretty new restaurant. I looked at just a few pics and sensed it was solid. When we arrived we were quickly seated. We ordered HS8 (Slow Cooked Ribs) & their Kimchi Pancake. When it arrived at our table, I was pleasantly surprised how large and beautiful the meal was. Food tasted incredible as well, the slow cooked ribs has this taste that I've always craved but couldn't figure out where to go for it. Additionally the kimchi pancake was delicious too. Their banchan is a delicious selection. My boyfriend really liked the creamy seaweed (kind of like a coleslaw) that they offered. Before leaving, I ordered a coconut matcha! It was also very delish. I truly enjoyed my meal here, and I will definitely come back to try more things with others. I foresee this place being one of my go-tos when I need a warm cozy meal. As for ambiance, it's very clean, has two tv's, and has some light music playing in the background. I think it would be super cool if they had Korean music playing as the slow english ballads didn't go too much with the vibes lol. I truly wish this family business so much success in Brentwood.

As Korean, Korean food here met my expectations. A big gap from other Joan restaurant is its heavy size of dishes, which is positive. Pajeon was yummy, thinner and crispier than usual ones. Bossam was good. Service here was pretty good, too, by talking care of the details kindly.

We looked online at first to check out their menu. We were shocked with the prices of the dishes! We decided to give it a try anyways to see why they priced their dishes that way. To our pleasant surprise, the portions of the dish orders were very generous, it would serve about 3-4 people. The owner also mentioned that they use high quality ingredients. The restaurant is clean and spacious. Friendly and efficient customer service. Food is delicious and flavorful. Would go back to try other dishes.

We used to live in San Jose where there are tons of great Korean restaurants, but after moving to Brentwood, we finally found the BEST one in the area! The food is authentic and delicious- everything tastes freshly made. The owners, Tomas and his family, are so friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Definitely an absolute must-visit if you’re craving Korean food! You wont regret it 😋
