The Bánh Mì Shop

Nice eatery! I got the beef bulgogi and the creme brulee boba. My first time trying a bánh mi and it was pretty decent! The drink was sweet but not overpowering. I really enjoyed the seating areas. Really great experience. The banh mi’s both pork and beef bogolgi are delicious. Ample filling and pickled vegetables. Wish the bread was a bit more crisp but still good. The place is clean and staff knowledgable and welcoming. The drinks are creative and delicious too. Will be back.

We stopped here on way to Kansas City and were so glad we did. Having had banh mi in LA, Chicago, and Houston, this place holds up compared to other big Việt diaspora communities in terms of their banh mi. The bread is light and airy, fillings well seasoned and portioned. Iced coffee that raises the dead, the Banh Mi shop is THE Banh Mi shop of Omaha, if not all of Nebraska at the minimum. Also learning about that the owner started this place while still a junior in college makes the story even better. We will definitely be making this a regular stop.

I’m not local, just visiting for work, and decided to try this place twice since it was nearby. First visit: ordered a Banh Mi—way too salty, and both of my friends agreed. Second visit: asked for less sauce, but it was still overly salty. I also ordered the beef stew for $11.99, and honestly, it was disappointing. The portion was tiny for the price—definitely not worth it, even my kid wouldn’t feel full from it. On top of that, I had to wait almost 20 minutes, while people behind me were getting their food much faster. The boba was okay (better than the food), but nothing special. Overall, overpriced, salty food, and poor service. Definitely won’t be coming back.

The food here is quite tasty, and our service was good. I haven't had many banh mi sandwiches in Omaha, but this was the best so far, though there was an overwhelming amount of carrots in the sandwiches for some reason. I also think authentic sandwiches should have pork pate. Unfortunately, the staff were using a bunch of strong smelling cleaning products and it made it hard to fully enjoy the food. It's hard to appreciate a grilled pork sandwich when you can only smell a cleaning product like Fabuloso.

The food and Boba is wonderful, but the people here are the best. Today they were very busy, but they had my usual drink ready very fast. I was waiting for my toasted bread that I always get on the side. Suddenly I hear one of them yell out ANNE IS HERE? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME ANNE IS HERE? She got my bread right away, with many apologies, even though it wasn't any slower than anyone else getting their food. I almost cried, it made me so happy. The sense of community I got from this one little shop made my day and probably much longer.

My sister recommended this place and I'm so glad she did! The bread is perfection and you just cant go wrong with what's inside! 10 out of 10 my new favorite Bành Mì place! And it the prices are good too!
