YUMEE KATSU

The only thing better than the absolutely delicious food is the incredible people who work here. Yumee Katsu has a lovely atmosphere and we were welcomed as soon as walked in. The service was very fast (to order and to get food) and everyone working here is so kind. We tried Chicken Curry Katsu, Katsu Curry Udon, Cheese Katsu, and Lychee Soju. We both preferred the Chicken Curry Katsu to the Katsu Curry Udon but both were delicious. The Cheese Curry is a must get 🤤 So yummy! The plates come with soup, salad, daikon, and kimchee. All of which was so enjoyable and a perfect compliments to the Katsu and Curry. We were both pleasantly full by the end and had leftovers. Can’t wait to come back 🥰

This was some of the best food overall the kimchi is made in house and amazing full of flavor if you like kimchi. The chicken katsu was perfect portion. Even the dressing on the salad was delicious. I can’t wait to come back it can get busy for lunch on weekends maybe check ahead or if they do reservations.

Yumee Katsu in Beaverton is a really charming spot for katsu. The owners are incredibly nice and friendly—honestly felt like being taken care of by your favorite aunties. The food is comforting and satisfying, and the warm hospitality really makes this place stand out. Definitely a place I’d happily come back to.

I had been looking for a good tonkatsu restaurant in Portland for a long time, and I finally found one! I ordered an assorted plate. It was very filling — honestly, it felt like about one and a half portions — and I couldn’t finish it, so I took the rest to go. I really liked that you can eat it not only with sauce, but also with salt and wasabi. I also liked that it came with a small side of pickled daikon and kimchi. It’s a different style from katsu restaurants in Japan, which makes it fun to enjoy in a new way!

The food is fantastic, as are the people here. My boyfriend is Korean and he got super excited when he saw a Korean style katsu place. He says he has mostly found Japanese style katsu in the US. We were in Oregon visiting family and we drove just over an hour to try this place, and it was totally worth it! My boyfriend said it was very nostalgic, and I just appreciate good food. The king don katsu was huge, and the picture does not do the size justice. I got the katsu sampler, which includes pork katsu, fried shrimp, and cheese katsu. All of it was delicious, but the cheese katsu was crazy good, and I need more of it in my life. We also got a mini udon, and the noodles were super thick and delicious. We plan on making a detour whenever we’re in Oregon to eat here!

Finally what I’ve been waiting for, a real tonkatsu spot that hits the mark. It feels like I’ve been searching forever for a place that serves authentic, crispy, flavorful katsu, and this place absolutely nailed it. We ordered the Korean style king tonkatsu and the cheese tonkatsu, and both were amazing. The breading was super crispy without being greasy, and the portions were generous. The cheese one especially was so satisfying, perfectly melty inside and crunchy outside. The restaurant gets pretty packed, but honestly that’s a good sign. Even though it was busy, our food came out fast and the service was great. The staff was friendly and attentive the whole time. I saw some of the bad reviews before coming here, but I really don’t understand what people are complaining about because our experience was smooth from start to finish. If you’ve been craving authentic katsu like I have, this is definitely the spot. I’m already planning my next visit because I want to try more things on their menu. It’s definitely a must try for anyone who loves tonkatsu.

The taste is undoubtedly great. However, it's a system where you order at the counter, pay upfront, and leave a tip. While efficient, the fact that you pay the tip upfront is something I don't particularly like. The inside is packed with tables, giving it more of a food court vibe than a restaurant. They seem to prioritize efficiency, and when I visited, the food came out pretty fast. We ordered the Assorted Tonkatsu and the King Tonkatsu. The assorted came with wasabi and salt, which felt somewhat Japanese-style. I thought it would pair well with flaky salt like Maldon and whole-grain mustard, so I packed the leftovers and ate it that way later. The King Tonkatsu was delicious but super large, easily serving three people.
