I ordered shrimp fried rice which only came with barely 8 pcs of very small shrimp. Way too much veggies and the flavor was bland. Ok, there was a bowl portion of black bean pork. So to say, eat shirmp and pork belly, also not many, barely few small pieces. Almost 20$ for barely amount of protein? Ugh! Flavor? Rice was bland and the black bean sauce a bit sweet. First time i tried their jajangmyeon, and now this. Both were meh.
Located in Hmart. Overall atmospher is so energetic since there is so many people in the food court. But the taste is not as much good as in Korea. The sweet&sour pork is really bad.. Jjambbong is good though.
Paik's Noodle is an Austin gem in the heart of HMart! My favorite is always the Jajangmyeon - it's the perfect blend of savory and sweet, with bouncy noodles soaking up the delicious sauce. I also am a fan of the crispy-fried sweet and sour pork. I think it's fried in tapioca or rice flour which gives it a fluffy and airy outer coat. We also got the fried chicken wings and fried rice. Overall, it's definitely one of my favorite places to go!
This place has one of the best Jajangmyeons in ATX! I love the sauce of their Jajangmyeons so much - it's on the sweeter end and never too salty. Another one of my favorite dish is their Jjampong aka spicy seafood noodle soup. Very generous portions and the spicy level is just right on point . The best thing about this food stall is their noodle. It's super Q and yummy, not too chewy and not too soft. Ambiance-wise, it's pretty chill. The stall shares the HMart food court with other street food stands so there's always plenty of seatings available. Sometimes it gets quite busy during dinner time/weekends but they always manage to make sure the food come out shortly after you place the order. Will keep coming back for more noodles 🍜
I've been aware of the rude cashier lady that everyone talked about, but what happened today just blew my mind. My daughter and I went there to have lunch everything was normal and the old lady was like what she always was but I didn't mind. Things was getting ugly when I ordered for my wife a to-go order, I came and ordered to go but the old lady keep staring at a black man like she really hate him or something, she was too focus on him to even pay attention to what I said, then when I said the third time that I want number 6 to go she then put the order in, when I came back guess what, she put the order in dining and gave me a bowl of noodle, I said I ordered it to go not dining, she then rolled her eye and start staring at me like I'm the one at fault then pick up the bowl and went inside without saying anything even an apology, lol, I could see that she started separating the noodle and the soup to different to go boxes then came back and slammed the bag toward me, still no apology, I went home and the soup is like half of the box, not enough to even fill the noodle to the top, what a terrible service! Lady if you ever read this review, please, If you don't like serving customers just stay home, or don't do restaurant. Save your racist behavior to yourself, your food is not good enough to save your business if you keep that attitude. I will never eat at this place ever again. Definitely not recommended to ANYONE, if you want to pay to get hulimiated then this is the place to go.
I’ve always enjoyed Paik’s, especially coming from Korea where Paik has many places to eat from and drink from. Paik’s noodles is centered in H-Mart where the food court is located, where many other food stores are - so it is super loud and can be really crowded. The service can be hit or miss, but today, they were very friendly. Food took about 15-20 mins; it was very hot and fresh. The stir-fried jjajang noodles weren’t up to my expectations, but the sweet pork is always delicious. My sister enjoys the spicy jjamppong here.
My American friends told me it was good to them. Yet not good as other store like somewhere in Houston but still I'm hopefully that they will be eventually getting better to what we want. Started from yesterday as a soft opening with 3 menus now. Jajangmyeon (짜장면), Jjamppong (짬뽕), Tangsuyuk (탕수육). So far I tried 1st and 2nd dish and my kid likes Jajangmyeon better.
