Umami Auburn

Food was ok , We took Fried rice ,miso soup and sushi with vegetables . Out of these vegetable fried rice was tasty ,miso soup was ok ,Sushi was excellent.

Genuinely one of my favorite restaurants in Auburn and have enjoyed at least 30 meals here! All of their fish is incredibly fresh (bent creek roll is my favorite and their tuna in general). The Umami Cham Ppon red is packed with flavor and another favorite! 10/10 recommend supporting this place!! + they have deals Wednesday-Friday!

Food, service, ambiance, freshness… I always take long to decide on what to order because every time I go I want to try something new, but I also want to eat what I had the time before. Their menu always keeps you coming back! This is me and my husband’s favorite place to celebrate special occasions!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Umami, where I decided to try their medium spicy red Jamppong, mild white Jamppong, and Cheese Pork Cutlet and I must say, it was a delightful culinary experience🤜🤛 The Jamppong had the perfect level of spice for my taste, offering a satisfying kick without overwhelming my taste buds🫠 The broth was rich and flavorful, with a depth of umami that truly lived up to the restaurant's name. Each spoonful was a harmonious blend of spices and seafood that left me craving more. Portion sizes at Umami are generous, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quantity of food served. The serving was more than enough for an adult, ensuring that I left the restaurant feeling fully satisfied.😁 What struck me the most about Umami was the attention to detail in the presentation and the use of fresh ingredients.😊 The vibrant colors of the dish were not only visually appealing but also a testament to the quality of the ingredients used. The seafood was tender and succulent, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The atmosphere at Umami was cozy and inviting, with attentive staff who added to the overall positive experience. If the service isn’t great then your tip will reflect on that. The Hispanic lady was the only server on the floor. She had 4 tables in total when I was dining in. I was evaluating how she was towards everyone and did not get a good vibe from her the get. She was very nice, smiling, having small talk, and laughing with the other customers and I am a person of color so I noted that down. Never once did she have that kind of interaction with my table. Auburn has become so hostile towards people of color now.

Our first time here & it was wonderful. We were seated quickly and our server was very kind. He recommended a few sushi rolls and we ordered the Auburn Firework roll. Our ramen was delicious and was plenty of food. The sushi came out 2 minutes after our ramen and was on fire. The server came by 5 minutes later to properly open the foil for us to eat. Everything was great and service was wonderful.

Came here for the second time and I had better eating experience than the first one. Staffs are sooo friendly and helpful, especially the owner (I think)- he really cares the customers! I got Takoyaki as appetizer, rice w cheese Tonkatsu, rolls and jjamppong or champon (seafood ramen). For the champon, you can either choose white or red soup and select the spicy level that you can handle. For me, medium is good so far. Although I saw Pork leg (jokbal) is offered on Thursdays, I still asked and luckily I had a chance to try this dish. Really delicious! Tender and juicy meat, good proportion for 2-3 people but a bit pricy. I enjoy this meal! Recommend the jokbal and spicy jjampong 👍👍
