Came here for restaurant week. Good value of $50 dinner for two. The fried chickens were very good. Preferred the Korean spicy. Could have used more heat. The japchae and pork belly bowl were both tasty as well. The Korean pancake dessert was OK. Service was attentive. Would have been nicer to be given individual plates to eat from. But we managed.
I had high hopes for Bori, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing. The staff is great, very friendly (although not always on top of checking on us) but the kitchen was not on it. The food we received was all lukewarm-stone cold. We also both got sick immediately after eating here. We ordered the Korean fried chicken, the pork belly bowl, the bulgogi sando, and the strawberry cheesecake. The fried chicken was supposedly soy garlic but it was just soy and very soggy. I was especially disappointed because Korean fried chicken is known for retaining its crispiness, but there was none. The pork belly bowl had no flavor. I added all of the kimchi we were given (which wasn’t much) but it barely made a difference. The pork belly was also not cooked properly. The bulgogi sando was the worst of all of them. The fries and sandwich came so cold that we had to ask for a new one (which wasn’t something we do). But in all honesty, we didn’t want another one. The sandwich was on a store bought hotdog bun, and it was also very bland. The only flavor you got was sweet. Granted, the fries, once we received them hot, were what you want in McDonald’s fries, but I don’t really go to a Korean restaurant for fries. The only saving grace was the strawberry cheesecake. It was delicious. The texture was soft and light, had the perfect amount of strawberry, and wasn’t overly sweet. The one downside was that the chocolate sauce on top was clearly Hershey’s chocolate syrup. Overall, I was really disappointed with our experience at Bori. I’m not really sure I’d spend my money here again (the prices don’t justify the quality of food we received). Also, getting sick after seeing that the food had been left out because of its temperature made me not want to risk my health for underwhelming food.
Overall we had an okay experience here. Our waitress was super helpful and sweet, but we waited about an hour for our food. As a table, we ordered a bunch of small plates and korean pizzas to share. For small plates, we loved the soy garlic dakgangjeon (korean fried chicken) and bulgogi kimbap. We thought the seafood jeon was a bit bland. We loved the pork belly & kimchi pizza more than the bulgogi pizza, but both were delicious. The bulgogi sando was good, but it was a little odd with bbq sauce.
Great date night spot! Fantastic fried chicken was the hit of the night and highly recommend. Boneless chicken bites with just the right mixture of sticky and spicy. The iron pan was a very generous portion and good to split after sharing multiple yummy appetizers. We'll definitely be back for the fried chicken!
The fried chicken and tteok-bokki were AMAZING. So flavorful, big portions, nice amount of veggies on the tteok-bokki. The kimbap was just okay, probably wouldn't get again. There's a little karaoke room in the front that had very joyful singing coming out of it! Honestly great vibe.
Really enjoyed this restaurant. We had a variety of small plates including the tofu bites and korean pancakes, and the drinks were good. The space has a minimalist aesthetic that sets it apart from Jolly Pumpkin (downstairs) and looks like a more traditional Korean restaurant. Service was very friendly but a little slow - it sounds like they are working on that. Overall highly recommend checking it out!
Food was fantastic! Kimchi pancake, fried chicken and fried tofu were all delicious. Open late so perfect for after a show! 👍🏻👍🏻
