Kim's Academy of Tae Kwon Do

Started working with Grand Master Kim as an elective at WSU to meet the full time student requirements. I instantly fell in love with the art. Grand Master Kim is the perfect example of what a martial arts master should be. Tough as nails yet caring and compassionate about his students.

Kim's Academy is a great place for a family or individual to start their Tae Kwon Do training. Students of all ages are welcomed and encouraged by GrandMaster Kim and all of the black belt instructors.

I visited this dojo with the intention of continuing my black belt journey, but my experience was not what I expected. When I spoke with Kim, I was informed that I would have to start over from a white belt, despite presenting my black belt certificate from my previous dojo. I had hoped to simply continue my progression, but instead, Kim made a copy of my certificate. I just want to bring some awareness If your certificate features General Choi Hong-hi on it best believe it is not authentic.

My kids have been taking classes with Kim's Academy through our community center for a year and a half. I love how kind and patient their instructor is (Alicia Looney you rock!) We have been to the main school for testing and to take the Saturday family class before the pandemic. Master Kim is AMAZING! You can tell he loves the kids. Overall this is a great school/community to be a part of.

I was super out of shape when I started, but this place is great for people of all levels. I'm thrilled with the progress I've made, which I attribute to the patience and encouragement of the amazing instructors. My son attends classes as well and we both love Grandmaster Kim and Mason!!

This is a fabulous place to drop your kids off for a while so you can focus on other things, all-the-while knowing that they'll be taken good care of, encouraged to be their best self, work hard, and be taught great values such as discipline and self-sacrifice. I love Kim's Academy!

Master Kim is one of the greatest Teakwando master in town period, he’s so great with the kids and given them a lot of life lessons.
