Kim's Hapkido Martial Arts

I should've added this review quite a while ago. My son has been with Master Kim's Studio for nearly 1 year now and the change in his attitude has been amazing. While we still have the typical problems of raising a child it is nice to know that we have the support of such a great studio. Master Kim not only focuses on what our child needs physically he helps our family to discover how we can best work with our child to foster positive growth and discipline. Master Kim expects a lot of his students and that is what makes his Studio more of an academy. Our son loves everything about the studio and we can see not only the growth daily, but also his drive to do better thanks to the positive influence provided by Master Kim and his staff. Thank you so much for all you do Master Kim, Ms. Candice, Ms. Sherry (hope you're doing better), Master Cole & all the rest of the team that do so much to ensure they create and foster an environment that encourages growth, safety & excellence. I highly recommend Master Kim for any family that wants their child to strive for better. I have been so anxious with everything going on in our family, but Master Kim's studio has been a blessing for my son and our family.

So far it’s been amazing, my 3 year old started a few weeks ago and I already see a difference, Master Kim is so patient with her and very stern. So glad to have found him.

We recently joined the family at Kim's Hapkido and it's been one of the best investments we've made. Our son has been working hard to improve his focus and coordination. Apart from the obvious physical benefits, the curriculum has been all encompassing, including lessons in character and responsibility! Master Kim is really funny and cares a lot for his students. He knows how to engage them, and teach really valuable lessons beyond techniques and form. He often gives wonderful advice on life and doesn't waste an opportunity to teach a lesson when someone is struggling. We often echo the things Mr. Kim teaches in class. It's a wonderful to have someone help instill great values in your children!

Kim’s Hapkido has been one of the best investments we’ve ever made for our daughter. She’s grown so much as a person in the time that we’ve been part of the Hapkido family! It’s hard to believe it’s been two years because with all the accomplishments and challenges she’s taken on there, time just flies by! Her leadership skills and confidence have grown by leaps and bounds as well as her excitement to teach others thanks to Leadership class. Master Kim truly cares about all of his students and it’s evident every single class.

We came to Master Kim’s Hapkido studio in search of an activity to help our then six year old autistic son also diagnosed with ADHD and sensory processing disorder become more focused, disciplined, and respectful. Until Hapkido there was very little that held our son’s attention. Master Kim immediately made an impression on our son and he was hooked. Not only was our son interested in participating and learning the art of Hapkido but our two daughters (ages 7 and 9), who were spectators and watching their brother’s introductory session, begged to also take lessons. Having our children take Hapkido from Master Kim and his team has been one of the best decisions we have made. Not only has Master Kim and his amazing team helped our son make remarkable changes in a short period of time (less than a year), but our oldest daughter, who has struggled with anxiety is growing increasingly more confident and happier. Master Kim’s program extends beyond the sport and the four walls of his studio. He encourages and motivates his students to take every opportunity to learn, volunteer, help at home / school, and be kind and respectful. We are grateful to Master Kim, Candice, and Sherry and recommend anyone interested in learning Hapkido that they take a lesson with Master Kim!

I started Hapkido under Master Kim and his team a few months ago with both my sons, age 8 and 13. It has been greatly beneficial for all 3 of us! My boys are growing stronger and more confident by the day, and I'm training in ways my body needed. But more than any of that, it's a true family feel in the studio. I've never felt more welcome anywhere else, and more comfortable that my sons are getting the best training (both martial arts and life skills). If you even have a passing curiosity, visit the studio and see for yourself!

I could not offer higher praise for Master Kim and his team. The studio is exceptionally well run and the entire experience has been life changing for our son- and for me! Master Kim is charismatic and the life lessons he interweaves between the hapkido training are practical. The holistic approach is different to other local studios. Master Kim wants to train his students to cultivate discipline throughout all facets of their lives : working diligently school, taking care of their bodies with good diet, exercise and grooming, and community service. The students track their progress and each week receive stripes to commemorate their achievements. We are extremely impressed by the program and feel deep gratitude to Master Kim and his studio for helping our son to gain confidence, improve his self-esteem, and self-discipline.
