Great, private university in Thousand Oaks, California. Our daughter spent three years there in the sun lit foothills of northern Los Angeles. They are intimate and have many outreach programs for their students. They also have a great psychology program.
Although this is a private university, my toddler boys love walking this campus and visiting the water stream to listen to frogs and just to visit. It’s a beautiful campus and quiet during weekends. They also took swim lesson here. Lovely relaxing atmosphere
High School and not so large that you feel like you're just another number. It's a cozy campus where everyone feels more like a community than an institution. The atmosphere is more about the student getting as much education and experience from the campus than just passing or getting a grade. It's not competitive, it's more cooperative where others help each other to succeed. I really did love going to school here and the resources and experience I gained are true treasures. The professors here are wonderful and the art community in this campus is wonderful.
CLU has a beautiful campus, with native landscaping that is labeled to identify the species. we enjoy taking long walks around and through the campus. There's a walking bridge the crosses over Olsen Road so students and faculty do not have to travel longer distances than necessary, and it also connects the northern portion of the campus to the southern. They have several new buildings, including a state-of-the-art cafeteria, gymnasium with weight room, and a museum. In the summer months, prior to the pandemic, the Kinsmen Company hosts Shakespearean plays in the campus park, complete with a full stage and professional actors. Patrons can take a picnic dinner and purchase wine and beer before the play or during intermissions. Seats are on the grass, on blankets or on low-backed lawn chairs The Los Angeles Rams also train on the northern part of the CLU campus in a cordoned-off section that houses their training facility. I encourage a trip to visit the CLU campus if you're in the area.
Terrible staff, res life at this university was one of the most disappointing and unprofessional departments I’ve ever dealt with. In my experience, their behavior was downright shady constantly giving vague answers, dodging responsibility, and acting like basic communication was too much to ask. The whole situation felt intentionally confusing, almost like they were hoping I’d just give up. What made it even worse was the attitude. Instead of owning their mistakes, they were disrespectful, dismissive, and somehow tried to twist everything around to make themselves look like the victims. It was honestly unbelievable to watch adults in a professional setting behave this way. If you expect transparency, respect, or even the bare minimum of competence, do yourself a favor and avoid dealing with Res Life here. My experience was a complete mess from start to finish.
Graduated from the Professionals program in 2017. Literally opened up doors i didn't know where closed to me without the degree. My son and I went to scooter around during the pandemic so he could enjoy the outside. Such a beautiful campus.
I have only visited campus briefly to attend a few open-to-thenpublic events but they have all been well organized, the locations/venues clean and well cared for, and the events all really positive experiences. Kudos to CLU for promoting positive community engagement in a wide range of ways.
