I've been training with Syracuse Martial Arts Academy for about 9 years now and have loved every second of it! I was a little nervous at first since I've never practiced martial arts before - luckily everyone here is friendly and helpful, making a new experience much easier. The instructors are very knowledgeable and are always teaching us new ideas. Overall, if you're looking to try out for the first time or continue your training, this is a wonderful place to train and work with some really great people!

I have been training at Syracuse Martial Arts Academy for over 14 years now, and have been involved in Martial Arts off and on for almost 30 years. SMAA is dedicated to teaching self defense skills that will be effective in real world situations. The instructors work to help students improve, while letting them progress at their own speed. Classes are offered in three different systems, so everyone can find something that is a good fit for them, be it more an empty handed style, or weapons related classes. Additionally, there is a program for anyone interested in applying their skills to tournament competition. The school has a true family feel, and I count some of the people there among my closest friends. My son has also started training in the past year, and I can't wait to watch his progress! I would highly recommend SMAA to anyone wanting to find a friendly, welcoming place to learn some truly valuable life skills while having a really great time.

I love Syracuse Martial Arts Academy!. I have been with them since 2010. As a mom of three, it was a little intimidating to join a martial arts school. But SMAA is made up of a great group of people who support one another every step of the way. I can't recommend it enough!

Syracuse Martial Arts Academy is one of the most inviting places you could go. Both Sifu Anthony and Sifu Eric have created a school that not only teaches martial arts, but more importantly martial virtue. If you ever thought about training in any martial arts, SMAA is the place to go, 3 styles to choose from and you can train in any or all of them as you please! There are a lot of places out there that will take your money and just give you a "black belt", but at SMAA they will truly teach you what it means to practice the martial arts and give you the skills that may one day help protect you and your loved ones.

I have been training in martial arts for over ten year. In that time I've trained in about a half dozen different places. I have been with SMA for the last year and a half and in that time I have found a great group to train with. The people are very supportive and the instructors are knowledgable, practical, and open minded. They welcome everyone and push them to be their best and I am very happy to have the opportunity to train here and very much recommend it.

Prior to training at SMAA I had never taken a formal martial arts class, but I was always very passionate about it thanks to my love of kung fu films and East Asian culture. The staff here are so welcoming and lighthearted, but still take their Kung Fu seriously. I trained off an on for over a year and within that short amount of time I got in great shape, felt more confident and secure in my own body (not feeling helpless of defenseless), and bonded with a wonderful community. When I was first looking for a school to train at 3 years ago I read the reviews about the family atmosphere and great instructors and they didn't lead me astray. I've since moved to Maine, but while back for a visit I dropped in for a class and was greeted as warmly by everyone there as I had been 8 months before. I train in Maine now, but my last visit to SMAA reaffirmed that there's something incredibly special about this school. Can't recommend it highly enough. Much love and respect always to my Kung Fu family of Syracuse.

I have been training in Syracuse Martial Arts Academy since 2014 and have not stopped training since. Syracuse Martial Arts Academy is a family friendly school where everybody os family. The two teachers Sifu Eric Winfree and Sifu Anthony Iglesias are the most honorable and knowledgeable teachers I have ever met. It is hard work but a lot of fun.
