Luke is an amazing teacher. My friend and I have been taking semi private lessons with him for over two years and are always learning and having fun with him. I’ve taken Mandarin lessons from other teachers and Luke is by far the best. I highly recommend him and feel very lucky to have found such a great teacher.

Not only is he a native Chinese speaker with a wealth of knowledge, but he also has an impressive understanding of effective learning and study techniques that helped me master the material in a short amount of time. From the perspective of a parent, Luke was great to work with--responsive, reliable, flexible. He accommodated my daughter's changing schedule and taught a whole semester's worth of curriculum in 8 or so sessions over the summer, with a few review sessions in December. We wish he would tutor across all the subjects!

I have been getting lessons from Luke for about 6 months now and I highly recommend his classes no matter your current skill level. I have lived in China for several years while taking classes and I feel that I am progressing with Luke faster than with my previous teachers. His style works really well if you are an absolute beginner working on tones or a near fluent learner just trying to brush up. You can even do classes remotely which has been working out really well for me!

My husband and I had a great experience with Luke's tutoring sessions! We had zero Chinese when we started and after only 12 weeks of lessons, we can introduce ourselves, ask basic questions, and pronounce new phrases correctly using pinyin! We are now living in China, and my only regret is that we didn't start classes sooner. I have been able to use what I learned from our sessions in real life, and I know I would have gotten even more from it with more lessons!
