Koryo Do Martial Arts Studio

This is a fantastic taekwondo studio! Our son is in the Little Dragons, introductory program. The instructors are fun, encouraging, and very patient with small children. They make every class playful while still teaching discipline and confidence. Highly recommend Koryo Do for any family looking for a positive, kid-friendly martial arts program.

Deciding to attend Koryo Do has been one of the best decisions I could have ever made. I've been coming since the start of 2023 and have loved every minute of it. Along the way I have grown not only as a martial artist but also as a person. The classes and testing are varied and challenging, and you have to put in the effort to improve. Nothing is given here; everything is earned. The good thing about that is that everyone else who is there, instructors and other students, wants to see everyone else improve too. Everyone is welcoming and friendly and encouraged to be the best they can be. Koryo Do is the best place to learn how to be a better martial artist and a better you overall.

I’ve been attending classes at Koryo Do for about 6 months now. They have a wide range of classes available to cater to everyone! I attend the Valkyrie class, which is a good blend of working out and women’s self defense classes. I definitely feel more confident in myself in day to day life. I love the family atmosphere of this place. It’s definitely a safe space! All of the instructors are focused on helping students be the best they can be.

Koryo Do has to be one of the most unique martial arts schools I've ever had the honor of stepping foot in. The expectations are clearly set and each class is taught with consistency and quality at the forefront. Very few martial arts schools in the area put so much focus into the proficiency of techniques and self defense as I've witnessed here. And the Teacher/Student/Parent relationships developed at Koryo Do feel like the kind of community anyone can feel welcome to be apart of. Not enough can be said about the amazing work and care that has been put in over the years to make this Tae Kwon Do school a staple in the Saint Augustine Community. If REAL martial arts training along with the confidence and mental fortitude one needs to safely navigate today's society is what you're searching for, the knowledge, passion, and experience flowing from the instructors and black belts make Koryo Do your best option this side of St. Johns County!!

Koryo Do Martial Arts Studio is exactly what we were looking for. All of the instructors and even the other classmates are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. You can tell that they really want to see the growth and success of their students. Highly recommended.

After posting a comment about having difficulty scheduling a free Tai Chi class, I received an email from the studio owner. She was very apologetic and explained that she had no knowledge of my pre registration or attempts to contact the studio. In fact, the studio had been using an outside vendor for registrations and answering services. The studio had not received my information. To make things right, she offered me a free month of Tai Chi classes and had the teacher contact me directly. Since then, I have taken three classes and the teacher, Serpil, couldn’t be nicer, more helpful, or more communicative. I intend to continue the classes while in the area this year and look forward to doing so again in future years.

I am so thankful to have found the Koryo Do school. Grandmaster Jose is a wonderful teacher who cares so much about his students and offers a well rounded martial arts education. He has cultivated such a positive environment to learn self-defense. The other teachers and students are all so friendly and welcoming too. Everyone there goes out of their way to help and support each other. Classes are so fun and such a great workout! Every class is different so it’s never boring. The Dojo is clean and very well equipped. I have taken karate classes, as well as cane self-defense classes. The cane classes are badass! We get to work with so many different weapons to get realistic practice defending against an attacker. I can’t speak highly enough of Koryo Do School of Tae Kwon Do.
