I ordered an orange blossom sushi roll and spring rolls on uber eats. It took 2 hours for my delivery to come and the delivery driver told me he had been sitting at the restaurant waiting for them. He let me know that there were also 4 other drivers waiting. When I got my food I opened the box to find the smallest sushi roll I have ever seen. The whole roll was a bit bigger than my palm. It was also not very good and the fish tasted off. I did not eat the rest of the roll. The spring rolls were soggy and cold. No sauces and no utensils of any kind. I am very disappointed and hoping I do not get sick. Would not recommend eating here, unfortunately.
My husband made a reservation for Valentines. Every other restaurant we passed had full parking lots, not this one. Only two tables taken when we arrived at 6:30. In all fairness, they seemed to have a lot of take away and doordash customers. We were disappointed to not see the sushi train running. That's actually why my husband wanted to come here. Our waiter was very nice, but he seemed pretty green and struggled. Nothing was horrible, but nothing was spectacular either. We had a couple of starters and sides, pork katsu, 3 different kinds of sushi. It was all just average. I might go again to try one of their noodle or ramen bowls if I was in the area, but I wouldn't travel the 20+ minutes again for it.
July 2023 Update: We visited Kinja this weekend and they have lost a lot of the appeal they had. The track hasn't started back up, the polish of a restaurant is missing, service took a dive, and menu slimmed to basically sushi. The sushi is amazing, but somewhat pricier than I think it should be. I am not seeing a big difference between this and sushi house. Prior review: We have eaten at Kinja for years. Service is great and food is worth the price. Things dip a bit when they are in a rush, but it is really good overall. Fresh sushi and a ton of options.
We came here for christmas Eve dinner. It was a very pleasant evening. The food was great! We got the bento box with katsu chicken, potato croquettes, and spicy pork. Everything tasted good and hot! The owners were very busy with all the to-go orders coming in constantly, but they still managed to put on a smile and provide us with anything we needed. Thank you for being open and cooking!
Beware ordering through Door Dash. If you do not click the "add utensils and condiments" tab, you will not get any dipping sauces that would normally come with Potstickers and Ban Chan that comes normally as sides for Korean dishes that was ordered. Ordered Don Katsu, Pork Bulgogi and Potstickers. No sauces or Ban Chan. Called to mention the missing items only to be told we should have called in the order. $70 meal. If you're going to be on Door Dash then you need to be clear on the menu. As far as the food. Katsu dry, Bulgogi was tender and flavorful but lacked any of the vegetables featured on the menu photos. Won't bother giving this spot anymore business.
They say they item at noon. They finally opened at 1218. We were the only ones there and the service was terrible. Finally got a few appetizers at 1:35. Still didn't have any beverages and the Croquets were cold in the middle. The waitress picked up one of the Croquets off my nieces plate with her bare hands and put her finger in the middle. She then put it back on her plate with her other appetizers. When I asked for a new plate she looked at me like I was crazy. After that we got the check and left. As I am paying she brings the water and then ask if we want our other drinks. She never did take or ask about an order and she was not happy when I sent back the ice cold Croquet! We will never go back.
There is no working sushi conveyor belt. It looks like it hasn’t worked since Covid. The restaurant is still laid out in a ‘Covid’ style….ready for take out only. As soon as we walked in I was disappointed but we decided to give it a shot. Monday at 5 PM and two other tables were waiting for food. Feels like you walked into a ‘out of business’ restaurant. No fountain drinks, you get cans, with cups of ice. We ordered 3 sushi rolls, and chicken fried rice. It took a while to get our food and it looked okay when it came out. But tasted off and bland. I guess the meat in the rolls tasted off…like the meat had been frozen and then thawed out and maybe frozen again? Instead of chicken fried rice, we got pork fried rice…or what seemed to be pork. It tasted more like spam. And was very greasy. The two poor employees did try to work fast and were friendly enough. It cost us $62 with tip. Super disappointing and unfortunately we will not be back.
