Terrible experience trying to apply to the 2 year RN program. I was told by the admissions department I'd have no problem getting into the program. Amazing college transcript from Marywood and excellent recommendations from college professors. Then was denied into the program because I fell in their admissions room and broke my ankle. The one woman from admissions kept calling me harassing me (not about my broken ankle) only once to see how I was doing. Multiple other times she called to see whose number it was. Then she said she's deleting my number finally. They dont care about your previous college experience and grades and recommendations.
Stay away from the Surg Tech program unless you want to be treated like a doormat. I had so much love for Lackawanna but they really need to do better with that department, what a let down! I am thankful for all the other professors who helped me along the way and guided me when applying to a Nursing Program at a different school.
Worse college ever online professors are irresponsible my daughter is studying there and said is the worse college and unprofessional which one the student try to contact the online professors and they are "really responsibles" they have lack communication with students and doesn’t care that they pay to them to be there. Sorry but I don’t recommend this college at all.
DO NOT GO HERE. I attended this school and the professionalism as well as the curriculum is far from being on point. The instructors passed people who they liked and kept people who were yes men. They do not follow their programs by the book as they are supposed to. They make up their own rules but expect you to follow what you signed up for in your paperwork. We had someone fail a test but they passed him because they liked him but failed someone else because he would call them out if something wasn't done by the book. This college and their teachers are extremely shady. All they want is your money and once they have it they do not care about you. You have to fight tooth and nail to get it back. I cannot believe there isn't a class action lawsuit with this college. AGAIN STAY AWAY.
I had a good experience here. I especially liked the small setting. The professors know all their students and are eager to see students succeed.
cannabis professional program is far from professional. We planted a seed and they killed the plants by neglect. Showed us basically how to kill plants the fastest. Here is the actual lab, Disgusting with broken machines that are bolted to stools. The teachers are extremely unprofessional. My extraction teacher decided not to show up for finals review and never canceled the review, the whole class sat and waited. Another is the cultivation teacher ended classes multiple times early for things like going to the bar twice to just being bored. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
i have an associates degree from a previous college plus attending the university of Scranton for a year and appearing on their deans list. Going to Lackawanna was def a step back for me. I was accepted into the surgical tech program and thought it was my lucky break. First before I go into the details of the program I’d like to say that the professors I had besides the surgical tech (while nice) mostly read off of powerpoints , which we students can do ourselves.... the tests were up in the air as to study what. They expected you to read a whole chapter (science) and retain every critical detail. The surgical tech program was a nightmare. Not because it was hard, but because the teacher, Purnell created a very hostile environment. She would teach the skills once and expected you to get every step correctly the first time. She loved berating students and while the course is very serious because one deals with infection prevention she seemed to forget that just because she knows the skill that we were still learning, all the while being out of touch with updated surgical technology like instruments and procedures and new sterilization techniques. She definitely had her favorites and if you weren’t one you’re going to know you’re not. Snatching and cursing is one of the many ways she’ll teach you. I had heard from previous students she had worked in McCann school and was known to throw objects around whenever she was frustrated with students. While I was going through personal problems n didn’t do as well as I’d like , I decided to quit the program because honestly, you can’t learn from someone who doesn’t want to teach. If you can find the surgical tech program in another school... go there instead
